I need help deciding!

orangecat

I have about 200$ to spend on a hardware upgrade or whatever I want. I might wait longer until i have more spending money but I'm not sure yet.

Here is what i am considering buying:

New GPU - GTX 760 or GTX 770

New audio setup - ODAC standalone and O2 from MayFlowerElectronics

First guitar - I have never played before and i want to get into it but I'm not sure if I should right now because i wont be able to afford an amp that is anywhere descent.

New keyboard - Corsair RGB keyboard with red switches (when it comes out)

I'm not sure what else to buy but one of these in that list is what i'm buying so i'm not sure what to get because the next time ill be able to buy something will be forever from now so i want my choice to e a good one.

EDIT: looks like i'm buyign a guitar since u guys seem to think its my best option and truthfully i really want one anyways and my games still launch so I dont really need a new gpu. as for the keyboard and audio they will have to do they are not necessary upgrades but something nice i wanted. Thanks for the help guys.

Guitar! Do it.

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-JamPack-IJV50-Quickstart-Dreadnought-Acoustic-Guitar-Pack-103563631-i1150606.gc

the 70 dollars you have left, you can spend on a cuple of books and some extra strings!

Technology will change, so most of other things you are deciding on will be outdated in 2 or 3 years, but learning an instrument is a skill that will last you the rest of your life.

I have been playing for 10 years and It's one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. go for it!

Audio

My only problem with that is sure my audio source will be way better but it wont help my gaming preformance so i'm really having a hard time choosing because I do allot of gaming but I also really want a better keyboard and I like music.

They're all really different options.

What's your reasoning behind each of the options?

But what about an amp?

It's an acoustic, you don't need an amp with acoustic. it's a good place to start. worry about an amp and an electric when you learn the acoustic guitar. trust me

I might consider that. personally my type of music is really heavy so acoustic never seemed like a good option.

If you game, I'd suggest a 770.

Also unless you have really nice headphones the o2 isn't really of use to you. I mean high impedance, as there are lots of expensive headphones that run perfectly fine off of a soundcard.

The video card, if not needed you might as well wait until Maxwell comes out.

Since the keyboard isn't coming out for a while, just save up and buy it when it does.

I was thinking of waiting for maxwell but there is no leak or anything when even a hint at a release date.

Does your audio actually suck as in blatantly or from a more audiophile point of view?

Is the membrane keyboard a pain to type with or are you just itching for the mech experience?

That is what i was thinking but i still do game and my GTX 460 just isnt capable anymore. I really want to learn to play guitar as a hobby but I want an electric guitar so unless I have an amp its going to sound like crap.

My audio setup is nothign special infact i most likely wont hear much of a differance at all if i upgraded my audio because my speakers and headphoens are nothing special but i would like to know I could remove some hissing/interfearence from my audio and give me room to upgrade my headphones later on and i wont have to worry about them being underpowered or running off a crappy audio chipset. When it comes to the keyboard i really dont mind membrane but i tried a sample kit from WASD keys and I loved he feel of the reds. also typos lol im being lazy right now.

Canada has Craigslist, right? Get your guitar and amp from there. I started with an $80 used Fender knockoff, a $10 used distortion pedal, and a karaoke machine my mom had laying around. Headphones can be plugged into a pedal as well. If it's something you think you really like, then upgrade the guitar. You can replace pickups for less than a midrange axe. If you don't have an SSD, get one before anything. $200 will burn a hole in your wallet before the RGB switches are on the market. If onboard has too much interference, get an audio solution, if not...well don't. GPUs give more frames. Can't go wrong with an upgrade there.

Edit: If you go the guitar route, research setting it up. String height can help dramatically with new fingertips and you can switch faster. It also depends on the music you want to play. It will change the sound. Will make squealies easier. A bad setup can tun off a new guitarist. It did me.
