No it's not... slower, worse camera processing and such, smaller screen and battery. Higher MSRP =/= better phone. It's a flagship phone, thus why the MSRP is higher, and it has a bit fancier build and screen. But it's not a better phone than the XR, it's the 1st gen of its form factor and tech, the XS and XR improve on it. Not enough to warrant an upgrade like I said earlier, but if you're buying new just get the latest one since there's no price difference. 

I get that it has a smaller screen, but are the bezels big?

iPhone bezels are HUGE as Fuck, if we're not talking about the X-Family. Just look at pictures xD

 

That's why i personally would not buy any iPhone, that's not from the X Family.

Either iPhone X from last year, or iPhone Xr.

 

Or... Xs / Xs Max.

I don't really know. My guess is that it would be fine, but it might depend on how often it is exposed to water. Or you could go with a XS if you feel like it. Because those have ip68.

Bigger than the X/XR, yeah. Big? No, not unless you’re one of the people who obsesses over bezels so thin you can hardly use the phone (on my X typing with one hand it’s easy to mess stuff up since the base of my thumb gets the edge of the screen and makes it go bonkers).

I clean my iPhone 7 screen under the tap, and its IP67.

Ehh probably not. Theres not much of a difference and not worth 250 more. Atleast not for me.

The difference is way too small for that price difference :P

The reason he had to decide was because of waterproofing. Bezels shouldn't be a problem.
