is it finally safe to update windows ?

hey!

i have disabled automatic updates on my PC,

i am still on build 1803, never updated, its been working great, never had a problem.

from last few weeks, i haven't heard any windows update issue.

is it finally safe to update?

BTW i will be installing new windows from scratch after wiping the old one (if it is safe to install).

and will again disable auto-updates.

Ive been using 1809 since the beginning and touch wood never had problems that others have had.

I've updated all of my machines to 1809 without issue, so I'd say it's safe to update. Just be sure to always have backups because that's the only way to ensure your data is safe in the event of a failure.

I have backup my boot drive pre 1809, after update i see no problems so far.

I would assume so, I have not had any issues with updating mine.

1809 has some bugs, but probably it will be not important to you. Some ramdisk tools for example don't work if you set ram drive bigger than 3GB (but you can find alternatives that works). Radmin server do not pass pointer shape (maybe they made a fix, because it's confirmed, but I'm waiting over month now). Some people notice fps drops in games. Boot may be a little longer (but that may be my problem with additional, old sata pci-e controller). I'm using 1809, but I don't know is it 100% good to recommend it to everyone.

It is safe but if ur using it with hdd some things will be slower than 1803 or 1709

im using it on SSD, but my data is stored on a 7200rpm HDD

i use my pc for heavy video editing, not for gaming that much.

im only concerned about overall performance drops, driver issues, and losing important files.
