2 780's will perform much better than a single 780 Ti.

It seems you've been asking about individual parts with separate topics. I suggest planning your system as a whole instead in the New Builds and Planning section but only after you read the link in my sig.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

I'd go for two 780's instead. I don't expect Maxwell release cards to be more than a 10% improvement at most because of how well (or bad) AMD is doing at the moment.. So if you can find them on sale just grab them. Not like they're bad anyways.

Yea, I think i'll go do that. xD

I have a 560ti atm. Any of them would be a huge improvement. I'm guessing Maxwell won't be coming out anytime soon.

780 sli will kill a 780ti but will cost more and you may need a larger psu to handle the sli however you might not, im just assuming because i dont know your specs. 780 sli for performance or 780ti for single gpu performance which you could sli later

Will 760W be enough? I don't think it's worth like $600 more to sli the Ti's when its only about $200 more than 1 780Ti for 2 780s.

no no i mean like you could sli the 780ti later later in the future but i'd probably go with the 780 sli right now. A quality 760w psu will be enough for 780 sli

2x780 will perform better in general, but 780 Ti won't be affected by SLI problems.

We do not know when Maxwell is coming out. It may be now with rebranding (you gain nothing from it) or in 8 months (maybe then we get 20nm)

while 2 780's will give you better average FPS, a single 780Ti will give you a higher minimum FPS.  IMHO, a higher min FPS results in a much better gaming experience than a higher average FPS

2 780's will look cooler...  but more heat...

HP something | 5600X | Corsair  16GB | Zotac ArcticStorm GTX 1080 Ti | Samsung 840 Pro 256GB | OCZ Agility 3 480GB | ADATA SP550 960 GB

Corsair AX860i | CaseLabs SM8 | EK Supremacy | UT60 420 | ST30 360 | ST30 240
