RTX 2060 Announced

Nvidia has finally taken the wraps off of the RTX 2060.

For just $349, they are advertizing that you will be able to play Battlefield V at medium RTX settings at 1440p at 60fps.

The card is said to have 5 gigarays/sec and 6Gb of GDDR6 VRAM.

They are also boasting about the high availability of the card.

as far as I know BFV does not even actually use RTX

BFV does, its just called DSR and there have been numerous videos about it from Jayztwocents and Hardware Canucks in reference to it.

It was a mis step just to clarify earlier in the conference they stated 1070 ti not the 2080 ti

So 2060 isn't a mid range card anymore (1060, 960...). Priced higher but more performance

 

I wonder when we can see a mid range 20 series card (~$200 price point) comes out

Essential thought surrounding everything = Nvidia is trying to pull of an "Apple" and overcharge the asking price of their products.

By this I mean it's great and all, but too expensive. The only good news in CES is if the upcoming Ryzen really is gonna be a multi-core monster.

 That's quite expansive for an intermediate card... Guess poor guy like me should go see what AMD has in store for us this year. 

 

Also, I'd wait til 3rd party (such as LTT or Gamers Nexus) verified that it actually can run RTX before believing them. God knows what "medium" settings Nvidia used. They could have put everything except RTX to Low/Minimum for all we know.

As mildly salty as I am about how the RTX GPUs seem to be creeping up in price over their predecessors, the 2060 is very likely going to be the mainstream choice by far. 

 

Assuming the $349 price holds up (though with markup, it might be closer to $399), alongside the performance claims, it's probably the most reasonable RTX GPU in terms of price:performance. 

 

Best to wait for reviews, however.
