My 6570 is killing me. Literally.

So I've been using my HIS IceQ Radeon HD 6570 for a while now, and I like it. It doesn't perform too bad, it runs cold, looks nice, and it's kinda reference (need it in Vengeance for airflow). But now it's driving me nuts. The fan is loud now that it's quieter with the Hyper TX3 installed. What would a good drop-in replacement be for it. I don't care if it's on eBay or what, but it needs to be dual-slot, blower style (for the case flow, not for sound) and able to work with my CX430M.

 

EDIT: I'm running Ubuntu, so I want it to be a fairly hasslefree AMD replacement, under $50 USD if possible.

Maybe look for something like a 6750? They're around 60 bucks for the "Manufacturer refurbished" ones on eBay. According to HWCompare, the 6750 is about twice as powerful as your current card:

I had one, and I thought it was a good idea to spend a bunch of money to upgrade to a 7750, which was only a bit more powerful. After that, I smarted up and bought myself a cheap 650ti.

EDIT: Nevermind, same thing. On paper a 4870 is about 1.5x as powerful as my card, and they are going CHEAP as far as I can tell. Should I try my luck?

How is it killing you? Did you eat it? Removing a graphics card from your intestines is quite a pricey procedure. I recommend buying an equivalent nvidia card and eating that, they will kill each-other and disappear.

I have two HD4000 series cards, the linux support for them is non existent would not recommend AMD cards this old. The open drivers are slow and AMD doesn't support them on any recent distros at all.

That's fine with me. It might not even get warm, since the room it would be in would be about 17-18C.
