ok but listen there is literally zero reason to buy a rx 590 because for 335 you can get a gtx 1070 which will do you much better, and the rx 590 is just an over clocked 580 so its not any different.

In my country the prices are similar. For a good model of rx580 i pay 10€ less than for rx590.

Yeah it'll be fine, though the card is pretty power hungry.

The PSU gets loud under medium load - like 250W or more.

Its really not a good one. And I really don't understand why Seasonic isn't replacing this ancient piece of Hardware with a newer one that was announced like 3 Years ago (Core Series).

here more Infos:

well, you're allowed to disagree and just doing something else, but in my, and probebly @Stefan Payne's opinion too you're wasting your money on a 10 year old design that wasn't even that good 10 years ago. there is so much better to get around that pricerange. seasonic generally makes great psu's, but this isn't one of them

What you think is not relevant.

What is relevant is how it is.

And the reality is that the Protection Chip in the S12II up to 620W is pretty bad, doesn't have UVP on 12V, no OCP, so when something goes wrong, you have a Problem (ie a Regulator stuck and causes a resistance of like 12-10 Ohms.) as there is nothing that could detect this fault, if the 5V rail doesn't drop far down.

And to make matters worse: 5V and 12V have one point of regulation.

Means if 12V Load is high and 5V Load low, the 12V Rail drops and the 5V rail rises - and vice versa in the other circumstance. That is a very bad thing, especially for a "mid range" unit, wich the S12II is NOT!

A low end Corsair VS is better than the S12II, the CX beats the shit out of the S12II.

Other Manufacturers have pretty nice things as well that are better - or way cheaper with the same or better performance.

Look at this Review:
https://www.computerbase.de/2017-07/cooler-master-cougar-xfx-zalman-netzteil-test/

The Cougar VTX beats the shit out of the Seasonic made XFX XT (zweite Revision)...

right

the RX 590 is a very power hungry card

and the S12II is a group regulated unit with no OCP on the 12V rail,

it just doesn't sound like a good idea to put those two together

power hungy? meh, but i agree a better unit like a cx(m) or even a focus gold/g2 quality tier is highly recommended
