Mind Dropping your Laptop KNAWLedge on me

Braeden

I know its an old meme, but I left my f**** at the door ?

Anyway, seems a common thing on here but I'm looking for a laptop recommendation. I know deep down, that I should be investing in a tower PC, but I'm a student so laptops are super handy.

I've got ~$700 to spend, more is okay with me too. I have a PowerColor R9 380 graphics card, which I plan to use in an EGPU set up. So I need a thunderbolt port. That being said, I don't need powerful on board graphics. Used is totally okay with me. Lastly, if its not too much to ask, the less it looks like it just rolled off the set of Transformers the better.

Thought's on these?

Budget a bit low. Yoga 730 13 and Ideapad 720s 13 Intel are good budget options for eGPU setup

The second link worked for me, oh well, its to a Yoga 730.

I've recently found out that EGPU docks for thunderbolt are $180 and up. So I think I'll sell my GPU.

Thoughts on this G3 15 3579?

Ebay G3 Laptop

The g3 is the most budget of budget gaming laptops. Everything about it is a compromise. You can pick it up at a retailer with warrantee for that price. Please dont buy that off ebay.

Keep in mind if you want to actually pass your classes you are not going to be doing much if any gaming. If you don't need the horsepower for school related tasks get a laptop with all day battery life. You can get an xbox 360 for 20-30 bucks if you think you are going to have time to play a game.

I have a couple laptop reviews posted on my reddit, R/SenpaisLaptopReviews. Those are just devices I do/have owned, and I have a few more to draft up. For $700 you'll be hard pressed to find TB3 other than being lucky and picking up a few year old Razer Blade off ebay

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)
