SSD Storage

Would a 1TB SSD as storage be enough these days? Right now, I plan to get Fortnite and CSGO as video games and maybe will install some smaller games and some bigger games. I'm also doing video editing so will I have enough storage for my video files (Not 4K resolution or anything)?

1TB is more than enough for most use. But, if you're video editing a lot, perhaps a 480-512gb SSD and a 2-3TB HDD for video storage might be better.

I'm not doing huge amounts of video editing. I'm just doing for some YouTube.

 

Would it be a better idea to spend an extra $20 on getting a 250GB Hard Drive for video files and media?

For games, 1tb will be enough but for my experience, 1tb runs out really quickly for me (2-3 weeks). I do video editing and I have a separate drive for games

A 250gb drive isn't worth it for $20 when for 60 you can get a 2TB with 8x the space.

I guess it depends on how long you keep files.  If you're gonna store them after they're created and perhaps keep the original files then you will probably need a HDD eventually.  But that's a $50 problem you can deal with later.

That's such a personal question that only you can really answer. You need to figure out your workflow and go from there.

You may consider a HDD for any long-term storage. They are cheap and you get a respectable capacity for like $50 (or less) if you do not mind that it is slow.

I'm planning to just use a 1TB SATA III 3D NAND SSD for gaming, OS, and video editing. I've spent $725 on this PC and was wondering if buying an extra 128gb M.2 SSD to make the budget $750. I would put the OS and other intensive programs on it and then use the 1TB SATA III SSD to store my video files and video game library. Would this be efficient or not?

Id just use the 1tb drive for everything. There really isn't a point to a small ssd for boot that really won't be much faster, esp with that budget.

While in general the other poster's info is correct, you will see a different between the two, I have both, the SSD for gen purpose and the M.2 for things like LightRoom, PS and swap file, it helps a great deal IMO

I heard the top tier brands for SSDs are brands like Samsung, Crucial, Kingston, and so on. Is ADATA a good brand for SSDs? I picked up a 1TB SSD from ADATA from their SU800 Ultimate series for $120 and wanted to know if it was a good buy. Read is 560mb/s and write is 520mb/s I think. Thanks.

They OEM for a few people. I've used about 50 of em and no deaths so far.
