Fractal Design Meshify C + RTX 2080TI

Hey guys!

 

I was planning to build a new Rig and wanted to put in the Corsair H115i pro AIO watercooling in a pull setting in the front and an Gigabyte Aorus RTX 2080 TI Xtreme. Now I would have to pull out the front Fan and now I don't know if the GPU is going to fit. Has anyone maybe already tried this or has some thoughts on that? The math, factoring in max GPU lenght (315mm) + front fan(25mm) - AOI Cooler(51mm) - GPU(290), says I'm like 1mm too long... But maybe someone managed it, or the manufacturer details might be off.

Why put such an expensive system in such an inexpensive case?  Balance.

Would you care maybe recommending another case then? I originally just liked the look of this one and didn't want something too big for a case. I also already worked with this case and thought the cabel management was done pretty well.

Most of Fractal's cases have great cable management so look at any of those.  You don't have to get a huge case, but there are ones that support radiators better or will allow you to delve into water cooling or add a lot of storage for all the badass games you'll be playing with that overpriced beast of a video card

 

I personally love the Define R6.  I would still be using my Antec Nine Hundred if I could tho

Alright I will have a look into this. Smart as I am I already bought the Meshify C on sale -.-' but oh well... I guess I can only learn from this one.

It may be 'inexpensive' but I think that advice is ill-advised. The Meshify C TG is one of the best airflow cases on the market and has some of the best features I have seen in any case I have had, even $180 cases. To be honest, in my opinion, the only thing you will get in more expensive cases is RGB, fan controllers, and maybe a USB Gen 3.1 connector. The Meshify C TG doesn't need to be more expensive and yet it is better.

Do you want to do push-pull on the AIO? Because the 51mm already include the fan; so you should have 25mm to spare if you don't.

I just want to pull, maybe my math is wrong, but the 51mm include fans on one side, with push-pull it would be + the size of the other fans or not?

I think your purchase decision was well made, you don't need a better case, 'balancing' your budget does not refer to underspending on a case. 

 

For example, if you spent $250 on your CPU, $250 on your GPU, and $200 on case, that would be an unbalanced budget. You are better off getting a $60 case so you can spend more on your CPU or GPU etc. Spending more on a case will not improve your FPS so how much it costs is irrelevant.

The Meshify C TG is basically a short Define R6 with more room for 3.5" hard drives, in my opinion, unless you need more hard drive bays it is no better than the Meshify C TG.

Why do you want your AIO at the front of your case for intake? Your overall thermals will be worse than placing your AIO at the top of the case for exhaust.

Fan = 25mm

GPU = 290mm

Total = 344mm

 

 

Meshify C allows for 315mm with front mounted fan or (315+25) 340mm total

Yeah, it seems as though with most motherboards a 280mm AIO interferes with the motherboard's heatsink in the Meshify C, do you already own the H115i? You could get the H100i.

Yeah, unfortunately, it probably will not fit but I would try mounting the rad in there without the fans then ad the fans after the fact, it may work. Someone on Reddit got it to work.

 

Edit: Most people seem unable to mount a 280mm AIO up top.

It's a great case.  I ran into the same problem when I had it.  My 360mm rad won't fit with the middle fan installed.  EVGA makes more compact GPUs that allow for front mounted AIOs.

 

I ended up getting a Define R6 and using the Meshify C for my wife's build.

As others have already mentioned, the Meshify C is just a bit too short. And definitely too short if you were thinking of doing push/pull with your rad.

 

If you want a case thats very similar to the Meshify C, I would recommend the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG. Visually they are slightly different but functionally they are exactly the same (Mesh front panels, good cable management, good build quality, similar prices) with the exception of the Pro M TG being about 4" longer (102mm) which gives you plenty of room.
