redmi note 5 vs nokia 6.1 (2018)

I'm planning on buying new phone by the end of the month. I'm thinking between xiaomi redmi note 5 or nokia 6.1. I mostly use phone for taking pictures, listening to music and sometimes gaming. My budget is 300$ max, thats the price of these 2 phones in my country, I'm from Serbia btw.

Nokia 6.1 will have AndroidOne out of the box, so there's that. Otherwise, only 32gb Storage and 3gb Ram.

It also does support NFC, if that's important for you.

It rocks a Snapdragon 630, which is ookay.

Only 3000 mAh Battery.

And only a 16:9  Screen, 1920x1080.

 

Redmi Note 5 is, at least here in Germany, a good bunch cheaper. 180€ instead 231€ (Nokia 6.1), for also 32gb storage and 3gb Ram. No NFC, but better snapdragon 636.

It has a 4000 mAh Battery, 33% more capacity than the Nokia 6.1, and bigger screen

There is also the Possibility, and i would recommend that, getting the 64gb Variant with 4gb Ram. Here in Germany, 19€ more, 199€~ (still cheaper than Nokia 6.1).

 

My choice would be Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 64gb/4gb Model, and maybe install LineageOS on it. It has a better SoC than the Nokia, more Storage/Ram while still beeing cheaper, much bigger Battery (better battery life), and a more modern 18:9 Screen, 2160x1080.

 

But still, even for the same Price for both, i would chose the Redmi Note 5 over the Nokia 6.1, except you really want to use NFC.

 

 

Maybe think about importing it? ^^

The 64gb / 4gb Model only costs 173€, with Shipping to Serbia.

Since this is also a Global version, this is exactly the same, that wou would buy for 300 locally.

Thanks, but im planning on buying it here, due to safety/warranty reasons. But yeah, price of those two phones are same here. Also i dont care much about NFC or 18:9 ratio. I'm just looking for a phone for a longer run, you know so i wont be needing to buy a new one in next few years.

Xiaomi A2? That will have 2 year of stock Android update.

Does it come with an Headhone jack adapter? That would work too.

 

But otherwise.. yea, Note 5 would be my choice. With 64gb/4gb Ram you will be able to use it longer than 32gb/3gb Ram. it's a worth investment ^^

+ more modern Display

+ slightly faster SoC

+ much bigger battery (4000 vs. 3000)

- no NFC

The camera on redmi note 5 does look better, but apparently google camera on nokia 6.1 takes a lot better pictures than the original.

Go with 5 Plus, with 64gb/4gb ram version. You won't regret.
