It's sem-based off United Airline's Battleship Grey scheme.

The continental merger scheme and the new one are cool and all but yeah I think a modernized battleship grey would be really cool

But I get there's some weight and cost savings impacts on running essentially a euro-white livery and most Eurowhite liveries look good lol

Deltas and Lufthansa's new livery are probably my favorites.

Would be sorta cool to see a re-launched America West Airlines lol

but I think the rights to that name are probably still owned by US Airways even into the purchase of American Airlines,.

after a proven safe and recertified 737max and it had served about 2 years or more safely without any other crashes it would have a fleet of

737MAX7

737MAX8

737MAX10

787-8 and 787-9

for an LCC, once the mcas is safe again that would be a really good way of getting brand new cheap planes lol

or that hypothetical 797 I talked about

797-200 (737-700s/MAX7s role) with PW1000G

797-300 (737-800s/MAX8s role) PW1000G
797-500 (757-200s role) either a scaled up PW1000G or scaled down GEnx
797-500ER (if an ER version was made of the 757 replacement) either scaled up PW1000G or scaled down GEnx
787-8 and 787-9 with GEnx

Ideally the 797 would have a very similar cockpit to the 787 so 787 pilots could pretty easily get difference trained on a 797 and vise versa, I almost don't think there'd be a need for a -900 or MAX10 if they did a proper 757 replacement that took the mantra of the 757 and changed it.

Otherwise I would have no issue going with this set up

maybe a regional division with the A220-100

A319neo PW1000G

A320neo " "

A321neo " "

A321XLR " "

A330-800 or A350-900 (A330 would likely win out because of similarity to A320 and Airbus probably being more willing to cut a good deal)

I don't think 737 max are the way to go. matters on routing but I'd likely go all CRJ then with something crazy like 747 modified for short OAK- LAX

I really love the name West Coast Air

America West's old fleet was A319/A320,737-300 and 757 lol

The new company would be headquartered in Huntsville AL for reasons being that's where I want to live and taxes probably being preferential to well California for obvious reasons but would probably focus on the PacNW mostly LAX-LAS/LAX-SFO etc

but it'd probably have Nashville as a hub with either MAX7s or A220-100s

A330neo or 787 would be good for heavy traffic transcon and BNA-NRT/LAX-NRT and BNA-TPE/LAX-TPE, BNA would also be used for flights to Europe lol

I wish the US saw 747SR/BSR/ BSR SUD

all variants of early 747 built for short hall flights so they had been beefed up to support 2x the number of flights with dense single class configs

That would've been quite interesting lol
I guess the reason why that may not make sense here is just the demand for it really wouldn't have made much sense.
LAX-NYC is a heavy route but MD-11/757/767/A330 were/are all better planes for that

I find your enthusiasm for the different commercial aircraft types interesting.  I guess I have been in aviation for too long and have started to get bored with it at times. When I fly on an aircraft these days I am lucky enough to remember what it was I rode on by the next connecting flight.  I'm usually asleep before we are off the ground, drives the flight attendants nuts.  The only times I really find interest in aviation outside of work is the historic aircraft and touring museums.

I'm think more like LAX-SFO/OAK or LAX-LAS or SFO/OAK-LAS

those are supper heavy routes that southwest flies hourly or more on.southwest does burbank to OAK every 1.5 hours

I do get bored with aviation sometimes, I mean there was a long stint from when I was about 15-18, I got interested when I was about 13 and I got back into it when I was 18 lol

And well 2 years since getting back into it, I finally got to fly earlier this year because my mom and I could never really afford to fly and she always preferred driving.

commercial isn't my big focus I way more prefer military and especially 1930-1960

thing is 787s can't hold 600-650 people they are limited to 440. pilot cost is cut in 1/2 to 1/3 by not needing so many

it would be a 747-8 rebuilt into an SR would be the way to go.

I got into aviation back in 1996, first job was for USAir Express doing maintenance on the old Beech 1900D turboprop commuter aircraft.  Been turning wrenches on aircraft ever since.  Never got into heavies.  I did the 1900D model, CRJ-100 and the occasional Dash-8 and Jetstream 31.  Dropped down to general aviation in 2001 and started doing avionics repair/install on private 2 seaters up to your smaller business jets.  These days I'm in the corporate business jet world.

damn neat.
Ever done anything on a vision jet? lol

Would be by far the most interesting small private jet to own for me personally since odds are by the time I had 2-3 mil to blow on a plane in just  buying it alone and the money to hangar it and maintain as well as insure and fly it (and get the private pilots certificate and type rated for the Vision jet since it requires a type rating lol) since the planes I'd be most interested in would be either an MD-80 or MD-90 or 717 and by the time I'd have money for those they'd probably need massive overhauling to keep them air worthy if they hadn't already been scrapped by that point. Although getting one that was in a state that wouldn't be air worthy very long for static display might not be too awful lol

Would love to have a static 717 in like 10-15 years from now since they probably would cost far too much to keep flying lol

Would absolutely love an MD-90 because apparently they have the same engine as some A320s, IAE V2500.

But an older 757 would be pretty cool (like an earlier 80s one) if it hadn't already gotten winglets would install the scimitar winglets (basically the plan I laid out for the 757 I found that was built in 1992, but it'd be like 10 years older) and install this so it feels like a newer plane to the pilots, maybe give it synthetic vision.

it really is, basically it was the last plane McDonnell Douglas made as an independent company before they were bought out by Boeing like 8 years after the first flight of the MD-90 and the MD-95 was adopted by Boeing and they renamed it
