Why do people care so much about the UK Royal Wedding?

Her name was Diana

Princess Diana was married to Prince Charles and was the mother of Prince William and of course Prince Harry who married Meghan Markle on Saturday.

Diana divorced from Prince Charles and stuck up a relationship with Dodi Fyed

On the night of the 31st of August 1997 Diana and Dodi left a hotel in Paris and were pursued by the press, their car crashed in the  Pont de l'Alma underpass, in Paris.

Investigations by French and British police concluded that their chauffeur, Henri Paul, was driving under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs; the press chasing the couple are also believed to have contributed to the accident.

The sarcasm just went RIGHT over your head, huh?

And it's sad that in the UK news, the wedding takes top spot while the Cuba plane crash comes second.

Is a Taco airlines plane crash really that newsworthy.

It amuses me how ingnorance as such still exist today, even with internet.

I was born in Chile and there's about as much commonality with Mexico as Japan has in common with Albania.

Uhm... what....?

Quote

More than 100 people are believed dead Friday after a Cubana de Aviacion Boeing 737-200 crashed on takeoff from Havana's Jose Marti International Airport, according to Cuba's state-run media.

Are we talking about the same crash?

EDIT: I suppose "technically" you could call it Mexican, in the sense that a Mexican company owned the plane, but it is leased an operated by Cubana de Aviacion.

I would call it a Cuban plane though.

British royal power has been curtailed several times throughout its history, from Magna Carta to the rebellion by Cromwell. The greatest blow comes during the glorious revolution when the parliament de facto kicked out the reigning monarch and invited a foreigner to take his place.

Queens Elizabeth has important powers on papers yes but in reality, these are meanlingness. British monarchy knows very well that parliament can make and break the British monarchy and they have no control over the armed forces whatsoever otherwise James II wouldn’t been kicked out so easily by the parliament.

If anything, British royal family does not have powers, rather they weld privileges. I mean they can drive without a license, travel without passports, immune to criminal persecutions, not pay taxes, while also being hugely famous. How sweet is that?
