Are Xiaomi phones durable and long lasting?

Bayron

My last two phones had been form htc and huawei(current), htc died 1,5 year in usage(power button died, usb port died and at the end mb started to lag and died), i had warranty still on it but they didnt even bother to fix it, sent 3 times to warranty and it came back 2 weeks later, 1 week later phone again dead(all 3 times) and i just gave up and didnt even bother to go for 4th time. So i bought my huawei and its woring fine still(starting to get lil laggi at times but its normal cuz it will pass 2 year usage mark next month ). im considering to buy my next phone from Xiaomi(buget line up)

Are the Xiaomi phones durable and will last 2 or more years?

i cant find any good info anywhere.

tnx for help! :)

:( i wish more people would point out this, constantly bashing the guys for no updates & custom EMUI, but they do support stuff long time... slowly, sure.

Yes, Xiaomi is durable, my brother had a budget one and lasted for 3 years, but at the end it seemed to not be able do much ( too laggy). Just seems to be an android issue. My brother's was a 100e model from like 2014 or 2015, so it's quite impressive it lasted that long.

Either factory reset the phone and you can get few extra months out of it or yeh, get something else.

So yes. Xiaomi lasts a long time if you treat it properly.:)

All my phones get case and screen protector at the first day, so at the end of my usage cycle they look like brand new. Idk why but i like to treat phones very good, yes i  have trend drop them alot :D thats why i need a phone which can whitstand some "soft" drops.

If it ever gets laggy like that, consider installing a custom ROM and getting a new phone battery. The new phone battery is easier said than done, I don’t know how you would go about replacing a  battery in a Xiaomi.

Also, I hate to be that guy but iPhones last a long time. The iPhone 6S from 3 years ago is still an awesome phone. And Apple will replace your phone battery for $30, which is a pretty huge deal after 2 years of usage.

I would just consider getting a used/refurbished iPhone 6S or 7. That will set you back $200~$400.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got xiaomi redmi 5 plus one month ago. It looks durable but as with any phone, you should use a silicone case and screen protector. So far i am really satisfied. If you will have any questions about device, ask away.
