How good is the AMD Wraith Cooler paste?

I just wanted to know if anyone knows how good the pre-applied thermal paste on the Ryzen 5 1600 cooler is compared to other pastes like the Noctua NT-h1, which i plan to change it with. Im not sure if the pre-applied paste is better so this is why im asking. Thanks!

Absolute shit from what I heard. Get a decent paste like TG Cryonaut. If you can afford a cooler too, go for a Zalman CNPS cooler or a Hyper212 EVO.

i have a RYZEN 7 1700 and i had to change the paste on day 1 because it was getting extremely hot with just normal operation, i wrongly assumed the factory paste of the cooler was good.

For mid to high end systems, I can understand spending a few bucks on a good tube of paste.  If it boosts performance by 1%, it's not a bad deal.  No need to go super premium though.

It's fine. The thing about thermal paste is that unless you're dealing with absolute, utter, poorly mixed shit from China that's a watery mess up until it turns into a hamster turd, everything (except for liquid metal) is within 1-3 degrees of each other. The stock paste on Ryzen coolers is fine unless you're looking for 4GHz...but then you wouldn't be using the stock cooler at all, would you?

Zalman coolers are terrible value unless you're getting the little aluminum flower coolers, which are much weaker than the Wraith Spire. The Spire isn't all that far off of a 212, which is actually a pretty bad buy these days given the broader availability of the Gammaxx 400 which performs slightly better and costs anywhere from 10-40% less. The Spire is not your father's old AMD screamer.

I'd second what Aisle9 said, you'd be better off getting a Gammaxx 400 if you want to overclock past about 3.8 Ghz. They perform better than a Hyper 212 EVO, look better and are cheaper as well. You can pick up one of those for just over $20 on Amazon. As for the paste, it's fine on the Ryzen 1600, but if you're going to get an aftermarket cooler, a few bucks on paste that you know is good won't hurt.

I haven't had any problems with mine, keeps my Ryzen 5 1600 at pretty good temperatures when overclocked to 3.7Ghz.

Its very sticky, you need to be careful when you take the cooler off the cpu. 

I suggest not using it.

It's not much more sticky than most other pastes. Care is recommended when removing coolers off of AM4 cpus in general due to the wimpy cpu retention. 

The stock paste performs fine and I haven't seen any dramatic results from going to a better paste when the cooler is properly mounted.
