Which parts are better?

Personally I'd go for the Meshify C and the Noctua. I'm pretty sure the Cryorig and Noctua perform very similarly, but the Noctua is a bit quieter. Neither is a bad combo though.

I'd go with the Meshify C. The coolers will be very comparable, and the case has a covered basement and tempered glass. Much nicer. I wouldn't get the Noctua though. It's a bit...ugly.

I was sure I would get a Meshify C, but I've heard that it's fairly small and hence more difficult to work in for a noob like me. Also, what would you recommend for the cooler? I'm running a i5 8600k and I want to overclock it to somewhere around 4.5-5Ghz.

It's not that much harder than a large case. Just get a modular PSU and it's a breeze. Building a PC is easy.

Depends on your price. Do you want air or an AIO? If air, really anything in the mid to premium tier is good. R1, H7, Noctua (basically any of their larger tower coolers). I think Cooler Master has some nice coolers as well.

Isn't there a noticeable performance difference between the R1 and H7? Im on a budget of around €100 for the cooler. I rather air but I wouldn't mind dabbling in AIOs.

I don't think so. I mean yeah, one will work better, but I don't think it's mind blowlying different.

Found a review, the difference is about 2 degrees under load. If you get the H5 (I think it's also cheap) the difference is about 0.5 degrees.

I don't really trust reviews too much- they all seem to contradict each other and they're very dependent on ambient temperature, cases etc. I found a Noctua NH-U14S for £56. That seems to be the best deal I can find. Are there any other coolers out there that perform as well if not better around this price point on amazon.co.uk? I've heard good things about Scythe Fuma.

Unsure but I’ll say that an H7 couldn’t cool my 1700X for crap so I bought an NH-D15S and have no regrets.

If you don't trust reviews, why even bother asking which cooler is better? Just pick the one you like the look of most.

When you go with the same reviewer, chances are much higher that they use the same review process for every product.

Ah I wasn't thinking at the time, the performance charts are the things I don't trust. These things.

 

I would choose the best looking one out of them (R1) but I don't want to be spending a premium instead of getting something that looks terrible but works nearly just as good at a much cheaper price (Noctua). Hence why I'm asking other people who know more than me so I can find a compromise between looks and performance.

I'd just buy new fans. They're not much more and you don't have to go through the hassle of dismantling the old ones. Plus, you can sell the old ones, so really you'd come out ahead financially.

Yes, heatsink is fine.

Mounting System is also OK, no problem there.

But the fans could be better, no way near the Noctua.

 

And I have both, an NH-D14 (SE2011) and the Cryoric R1 Universal...

 

So my statement stands:
The NH-D14 has better (=higher quality + Bearing) fans.

I wasn't talking about the case, only about the CPU Heatsink.

 

But I'd excpect something cheap because a fan of good quality is rather expensive (a couple of € each, that would increase the price of the case to a point where nobody would buy it)...

But the usual suspects should be fine as case fans:

I've never looked too deeply into it, so I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending anything.

If you're going for RGB, the newer Corsair fans look nice. The ML series I think? Not sure how they perform though.
