The main roadmap confirms Coffee Lake-S to last until at least Q1 2019. Shortly after the rest of mid-range CFL-S SKUs become available Intel has plans to release Coffee Lake-H, consumer high-end gaming mobile series. The roadmap also lists Cascade Lake-SP as Skylake-SP replacement and Coffee Lake-E as Kaby Lake-E replacement.

Interestingly the roadmap only lists two CFL-H processors: Core i7-8850H and i5-8400H. It’s possible that Core i9-8950HK we covered yesterday will arrive at the same time as 8-core CFL-S for the desktop platform. More parts will be added to CFL-S lineup, including T parts of existing SKUs and Pentium/Celeron models.

Cascade-Lake SP is confirmed as Purley Refresh. It brings some new features, such as neural network instructions, DDR-T/Apache Pass DIMM support and frequency improvements.

These are just some leaked roadmaps that indicate intel CPU types on a clear diagram. It seems like some new features will be integrated as new chips start rolling out in the coming year of which would benefit gaming performance and productivity workloads.

Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves now, this is Intel we're talking about after all... I wonder if they'd try charging a premium for soldering the IHS to the CPU...

I mean the prices goes up every generation so people wouldn't notice it tbh
