If you have an OC motherboard (Z170, Z270, or an X99) then go for it. Personally I don't see why you would, but hey. It's your money.

Uh... 6700 to 7700k is not worth it.

And yes, 1800X/1700 are "shit" in gaming compared to 7700k but if you stream then 7700k is "shit" for gaming while streaming compared to 1800x/1700

If you stream while gaming, and do it frequently, consider a 1700X or 1800X because those extra cores will help you out. If you prefer raw fps, grab a 7700K.

Not worth. But that's my opinion.

The R7 1800X's gaming performance is far from "shit". Not as good as the current quad core i7s but it'd be better suited for gaming and streaming simultaneously.

Not really worth it. Ryzen performs fine in games, will easily wreak a 7700k in streaming.

it's barely an upgrade. don't do it.

Ryzen gaming performance is very good. however, Ryzen is thought to be worse than it is because it's always compared to the 7700K. even Skylake-X "sucks" compared to the 7700K.

Wait for CoffeeLake.

Also, Ryzen is not "shit" at gaming. It's actually rather awesome at gaming. The 7700K is only somewhat faster than Ryzen because Intel has marginally better IPC and cos KabyLake can overclock better.

Do you play at 144hz? If not then there is next to zero difference between the 7700k, 6700, and the 1800x when it comes to gaming. But in everything else, the 1800x nearly doubles it in performance, tramples, train-wrecks, stomps. The 1800x is even better at streaming while gaming than the 7700k. And in 1% lows the 1800x is better in gaming. Meaning more consistent frame rates. So no, to correct your statement, Ryzen is not shit for gaming.

GPU: XFX RX 7900 XTX

Yeah pretty sure the gaming performance of an overclocked 1800x would easily rival a locked i7 like the 6700. Switching to ryzen would give you the same basic gaming performance but much better streaming while gaming performance. That being said idk if it is worth upgrading from a i7 6700 as it is a very nice cpu. Probably better off figuring out how to tweak your streaming settings to get better performance tbh.
