yes, of course...GPU's these days gets really hot even with dual slot open air cooling solutions.

Yes, cards need to be cooled well (Though I think there was a single slot 1070 released).

if you put an EK waterblock on a card you get a single slot card...congratulations.

Imho, if you think about it for a minute, probably 85-90 percent of the space the card is using is taken up with the heat-sink for the GPU.  Gotta have someplace to put all the metal.  And don't forget to throw in a fan or two.

You can put a waterblock on a 1080ti and make it single slot.

1070 katana is as good as it gets right now 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...
