At this point the Skyrim 2 jokes from a few years ago aren't that far fetched anymore

Wouldn't be surprised if ES: 6 just take some place in Skyrim again with how much Bethesda seems to love it.

Personally, after playing quite a bit of ESO, I'd be very interested in a cross-continental(?) Elder Scrolls entry. Everything from Elsweyr to Skyrim to Black Marsh would be grand. Obviously, the scale can't be that huge for a single-player game, but I feel as if Bethesda could pull it off with aplomb.

I disagree. All Bethesda open world games actually have fairly small worlds compared to other open worlds. I'm afraid that if they increased the land mass drastically, it would greatly lower the quality of the world and hurt diversity.

I'd rather have a small but densely packed world with lots to do and explore.

There's actually a mod team working on that goal now... https://beyondskyrim.org/

The first part... Bruma (northern Cyrodiil) will be released on the first.

That's what I'm talking about. They wouldn't be able to make a world to that scale unless they relied on checkpoints or caravans. I found vanilla Skyrim to be quite full of adventure with the amount of caves and areas that they started with, but to add more regions would be very difficult. If they did try, they would have some of the pieces already filled in thanks to their previous releases.

So you mean it's just not the game for you. If slaying dragons and going on adventures is not your type of game I hear there is strawberry shortcake and carebear games out there.

Also there are mods that fix most of the bugs

The lore to it alone is crazy I spent years in Skyrim. The only think ilthat lacks is it's combat system. Now dsrksouks has good combat not just spaming your sword

Or, in the case of Oblivion, spamming shield and magic.

It's possible that Bethesda is porting Skyrim ad nauseum to get practice on that platform. They really only have to touch the main engine code, since the Creation Engine seems to work by plugging in asset packs.

But you know, Bethesda. Running into features bugs is the norm :3
