500 GB WD Black or 1TB WD Blue

PC specs:

1060 3gb (oc)

I5 6400

120 GB Samsung 850 EVO

8GB 2133MHz RAM

 

I want to upgrade my storage...would a WD Blue be a bottleneck? I can get a 500GB WD Black for about $20 more than a 1TB WD Blue, what should I do?Thx

If you have SSD, get the WD Blue 1TB.

WD Black is loud, expensive and doesn't provide a huge increase in write/read speeds because it's still a hard drive

i don't know about the bottlenecking, but I have a 320gb 2.5 inch WD Blue in my pc which was salvaged from my old laptop and despite having had 3 different os's installed and then uninstalled again it still runs fine, and is quite fast.

Actually, for 1TB/500GB models, the Blue is a bit faster (look at benchmarks), the Black is only faster with more than 2TB because 2TB+ Blue run only at 5400RPM
