Your current card can't accomplish that?

GTX650 --> RX470/RX480

A Really nice sweetspot price to performance card esp for finding a balance for your current system.

Looking for direct comparisons...

I see a 660 and a rx480 comparison here.

SHould be a good example.

The 650 is going to fare a little worse to the 660 results and the RX470 is very close to the RX480 in many titles.

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1778?vs=1749

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

With an RX470/480

OR Nvidia 10603gb or better...

Then you should see close to double your performance or better.

2x +

Only in super demanding titles.. that enjoy some cpu power, will take some performance from you, likely still seeing plenty of performance for playability however..

Im talking about some drops.. in say Witcher3 1080p Ultra on RX470 .....in the city to 45-50fps and other areas its normal less stressful areas gaining again up to 70-80fps.

The cpu may hold you back in some small casesnof extreme cpu usage.

Likely to swing back to normal usage pretty fast and may not detract that much at all from playing.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

You should note that the only reason the 980Ti is cheaper than the 1070 is because it's used. A new 980Ti is more expensive than a 1070.

I have a GTX 1070, and am quite content with it. Depending on your budget, a 1060 might be the way to go (at least that was my first impulse). Then again, I have seen the RX 480 at lower prices.
EDIT: I just browsed pc partpicker and tried to look for a decent dual fan version, and just for comparisons sake, picked out an RX480 and GTX 1060 from the same manufacturer: (btw seems like the 1060 is cheaper on newegg right now, possibly some sort of sale or deal don't know. might be worth looking into)
Asus Radeon RX 480 4GB Dual Video Card  ($184.99 @ B&H)

Asus GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB Dual Video Card  ($179.99 @ Newegg)

Here some user benchmarks (Can't vouch for how accurate they are, I never benchmarked a system myself) :)

Hope those links help you with your decision. Seems o be boiling down to preference. I think both cards are a pretty good value :)

Noboy is saying  that, but you should see and tell us what power supply do you have in ypur pc and what is the wattage. Imho going with anithing higher than an rx 480 or gtx 1060 is going to be a waste of money as you will see severe cpu bottlenecking

not really at all, people pair 480 with i3, and there's no bottleneck there - the 3350p is a capable processor, it's just slightly slower than the i5 6400..

idk

RX470 is over 400% more powerful than a 650, and the 480 is close to 500%!!!!!!!!

ie; The "Thought Process" of moving from a GTX650 >TO< the RX series... thats all.

He will dig it for sure - The post was an example of the RX upgrade he'd get, I'll fix it anyhow.
