2Tb is nice but I would get a 3tb unless you got a lot of games or are storing lots of video

Balance storage needs with budget. But 2TB should be the standard by now.

I'd go with whatever you need. If you're holding 500GB, go 1TB minimum with 2TB being good. Just be sure to look at number of platters (and density) and read/write heads when shopping since they along with the controller and buffer are more important than speed these days.

I thought you were talking about 750 EVO, the cheapest I've seen it is $169.99. Just $10 more.

The controller is improved a bit on the 850 vs the 750. You can also check out the MX300. It'll give a little more space with similar performance.
