Krille21

If you can sell 1070 for good amount of the money you have spent on it then i would go for 1080ti

latest big card solo is always better tha sli.

Sli sometimes just don't work, or not fully as expected.

Simple rules:

- If it works, dont update it.

- You don't know how, just do it, you will learn.

- Test, restest, test again, and maybe it will do it.

sli is not bad as people think also the bonus being it would be cheaper to implement for OP and gives better performance.

the Titan XP is not the 1080 ti.  The titan XP was the 1080 with more Vram and cuda cores, a higher memory interface width and a faster memory bandwidth.  The 1080 ti is a different chip.  Just look at performance, you can see how much faster it is, at gaming, than the titan XP.

which is to say, barely. it's certainly not a runaway competition between the Titan XP and the 1080Ti...

they're different GPUs regardless.  And I've been seeing 20% between titan XP and 1080 ti

Odd results. The 1080 ti is actually infront of titan x in gaming performance. By 1-5%

that wouldn't even make sense.  the titan XP was within 1-5% of the 1080.

However the Titan X beats in tasks that are not gaming by that 20% you are talking about. Driver update could improve 1080 ti's performance.

I think you are talking about 1080 not 1080 TI  Ti Stands for titanium is a completely different card from 1080 for example 980 and 980 ti

I am talking about the 1080.  I am saying that because the titan XP is within 1-5% of gaming performance as the 1080 (NOT TI), there is not way that it could be within 1-5% of the 1080 TI because the TI is at least 20% better than the 1080.

Why did you bring up 1080 anyway :D it is insignificant to this discussion.

I'm proving my point by counterexample.  If the titan XP is within 1-5% of the 1080, WHCH YOU CAN SEE ANYWERRRR, and the 1080 ti is AT LEAST 20% better in games than the 1080 ( a loose estimate), then the titan XP can't be within 1-5% of the 1080 ti

Titan XP is not within 1-5% within of the 1080/ Maybe you are thinking about SLI as well as what I said is true the 1080 ti is better than Titan XP by 1-5% and is validated by benchmarks and nvidia calling it their fastest GPU yet.

The way you present your points is very confusing and takes time to figure out what you mean :(

I'd suggest going for the 1080Ti then selling your 1070. There are quite a few games that are buggy with SLI, or don't support it all together.

PC Specs: i5 4690K, MSI GTX 970 Gaming, 16GB Crucial Ballistx Tactical at 1866Mhz, MSI Guard Pro, 120GB Crucial MX100, 4TB HGST HDD, NZXT H440 Black/Blue

Phone: Oneplus 3 w/ Moto 360 2nd gen

Consoles: New 3DS XL, Xbox One, Nintendo switch soon hopefully.
