Do you think Hard Drives are loud?

 

personally I hate how loud Hard dives are. If I unplug them I can barely hear my fans running. Even at load! It just bugs me. I was hoping SSD prices would keep falling because I'm really tempted to replace everything with SSDs solely for the silence.

How is a hard drive loud? You'd have to be in the world's quietest room to notice them. Unless you're using Seagate.

I'm using Seagate and it's whole lot quieter than my previous Maxtor Diamond Max 10s

Not really. The spinning noise is quite loud even with all the fans in my system and an ac on in the distant background I can still hear them quite loud. Sort of a high pitched whurr. If you can, unplug your Sata power from your hard dives and give it a listen.

Agreed. It adds to the PC experience that differentiates it from using a tablet or phone. Most likely just a conditioned experience though. Still much prefer the sounds of HDDs working at reasonable loudness to the annoying fans wound up during load

i have 3 HDDs, my GPU is 50x louder then all of them comined but i REALLY dont care, everything is so quiet anyway

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

I absolutely hate HDD sounds. I have an S340 so there is no sound dampening for the drives. When I copy large files or when the nightly backup starts my PC sounds like a wood chipper.
