No one should buy MSI Nvidia cards this generation

Do you know if the 1070 armor and gaming will be similar like 1080?

Red and black graphics cards would kill the look of my build. The top tier card should be somewhat neutral colored. That alone will make some people choose another brand.

$660 for the MSI Aero GTX 1080. A factory OC version of their bottom of the barrel GTX 1080 for $60 over MSRP.

I know MSI stated that this was going to hit MSRP of $599, I believer that it's the retailers fucking people over at this point.

Anybody remember the Litecoin mining craze back when Hawaii was released? AMD couldn't do a damned thing about that, demand was just huge, so we got the R9 290X at $700+ with the GTX 780 Ti. Same story with Pascal, demand is huge, and supply isn't expected to stabilize for another month, if not a bit longer.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

In my other thread the msi armor cards were called "known garbage".

I have 2 1070 armor OC cards on the way. I don't know if I should sell them or what.

I'm not going to find a 1070 under $400 for a long time.

Are they really that bad?

I don't see why they're bad.

I'm actually quite surprised by this topic Steve as you're usually more pragmatic than this. It's not MSI's fault, the Pascal pricing is an insult in general.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Pascal pricing sucks, but the MSI cards have had the shittiest prices so far, at least in the US.

I'm new to building computers but I'm very familiar with what's going on. It's no different than .22 long rifle ammo.

When Obama calls for more gun control, everyone buys guns and ammo.

As with nvidia-

Nvidia has has hyped the card so much, it's attracted attention to PC gaming. It's brought more buyers into the mix, myself included.

That alone has created more demand, and then there's another matter.

Being realistic, the 1070 and 1080 is the only new high end card on the market.

That adds up to nvidia having the consumer by the balls. You can't blame them for making as much money as possible. Any company would.

At least we don't have the fear that graphics cards will be banned. If so, then a GTX 1080 would be $1500-$2000

In MSI's defense they do offer the only 1070 at MSRP that I've seen. The Aero. But I'm pretty upset about the pricing so far in general.

It finally happened, Merica blamed Pascal pricing on Obama.

I never said that. If you'd read it correctly, I'm comparing the two different but similar scenarios.

hype creates demand, the demand causes higher prices. I don't get all the whining. It sucks, but everyone is acting like the company is in the wrong.

nvidia is not out to benefit the customers. They will do whatever they can to raise the stock prices for the shareholders.

Most companies could only wish they could dominate their target market like nvidia is doing.

The the price sucks to me too, but they are doing a hell of a job for their company.

Can't find the 1070 coverage, but it's the same card only a 1070 and also at the MSRP.

  That's ok,

i just dont want to get political. Im just pointing out how hype can cause price increases.

nvidia is smart as hell. They practically set off fireworks, sounded the trumpets, and rolled out the red carpet for the GTX 1080.

The crazy charts, graphs, and claims of multiple times the performance made it into the main stream media. now it seems to be paying off big time.

Nvidia stock has doubled in the last year. I Don't follow investing very much, but I don't think its an easy feat to double your stock that quick.

Just wondering, is there any $380 or $600 cards set for release? I doubt we will see any for a long time. Nvidia screwed us more than anyone. Why sell a better performing card for cheaper?

I said it before, they added a extra price hike, while saying its not a price hike(marketing)

Actually, I have to hand it to AMD. The RX 480 won't perform much better than a 390. So how did AMD answer Nvidia? by implementing a NDA and allowing crazy rumors to hype the RX 480. So when the RX 480 launches AMD has no responsibility for the misinformation. It's actually brilliant, if there were Pascals on shelves to impact the sales of xD
