Carry PC in a bag?

Since I'm going to a friend's house, he asked me if I can bring my PC with me somehow. I want to do this in the most compact solution. Pretty much I want to stuff my PC (NZXT S340 case) into my bag. Stupid idea, yes, I know. The bag is pretty big, so I'd assume it can probably fit in there.I have already tested my 23" monitor and it fits somehow (lol). I don't want to test my PC because one of my main concerns: static. If I were to put my PC in the bag, would it be affected my static at all? The bag is made of fabric-like material, if that helps.

My parents ARE driving me (too young to drive lol), just that they wouldn't approve of bringing my whole setup to the door because it would look "embarrassing"

 

The bag I'm using is more like a luggage btw

if you take the GPU out no

if you leave the GPU in then yes you risk ripping your PCIe slot off

Your fine. I go to LANs often and I just toss everything in my car and go. I have a phantek enthoo primo SE so it is a full tower sorta hard to lug around but gets the job done

This. As long as you screwed down everything and you're not manhandling it like a bear would to a food canister, your computer's going to be fine.

 

And I'm speaking from experience. I've hauled my rigs to various LAN parties and 500+ mile road trips and none of them developed any issues.

I wrap mine in a towel, wipe it down, whatever. Static doesn't hurt it. I put it in my luggage along with my monitor and all of my peripherals and it makes it to my friend's house okay on multiple occasions.

Could you please clarify how transporting PC tower in a bag of some sorts risks ripping your PCIe slot off if your GPU is mounted, correctly (screws and all)?

the gpu is heavy and if you stop or accelerate quickly then the gpu might damage the slot

yup, dropped my pc from about 20 cm and the cpu cooler moved a little and the case side panel was a little off but it's still fine to this day

Ah would that not also happen if your tower was just in the trunk of your car? 

I ask because I discovered today that my pcie slot is being difficult and I have traveled with my tower in the back of my car a lot.

the GPU is only held in by two screws at the PCIe slot

there is a ton of leverage on the other end of the GPU

 

if there is any bump to the case (like if you go over  pothole with a car) the GPU will rip the PICe slot off your motherboard

lol, my tower has fallen out the back of a still car and hit bricks. Cracked the front case frame on the corner it landed. 

I also have a dent in the side panel from a less brutal drop. 

hmmm remembering this, its no wonder my pcie slot is giving me problems. *death*

I dropped my PC with a hyper 212 evo and the heatpipes on the contact plate popped out a bit and it wouldn't make a good contact anymore so I had to replace it
