so i have got a 240gb ssd and i want to copy over my windows installation and some other files (around 50 gig) should i fresh install or just clone to 1tb to a smaller partition on the 240gb

i have heard that cloning can cause some weird and funky errors

Fresh install is always better!

Fresh would be the way to go in this case then make a backup image to make doing fresh installs quicker.

* If you want to keep software configs still, clone. Otherwise fresh.

No data is lost on original drive if only doing fresh install on new drive.

Using a cloned system myself, It is definitely the more difficult option, but very worth it. 

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

i use cloned images to restore normally, rather than doing fresh installs, saves a hell of a lot of time. 

 

Problems have been none existent for me using acronis.

After my experience of running servers for a long time which must have not only 24/7 uptime but also remain totally secure.

 

Fresh is better because Windows esspecially get's screwed over time.  And it's EXTREMERLY important to keep the system clean, meaning try not to install bad software.   I know a lot of installers leave things over, and I despise tune up software so I just don't install anything that might leave things over.
