Tech Gifts for Non-techies Giveaway!

I would buy the Logitech Z506 for my parents. Simply because anybody can use it, and its 5.1. My parents love to watch movies and tv-shows, but thats not fun with a crappy sound.

I would honestly like to get my mom, who is not really tech savvy when it comes to computers. I believe this would honestly make her life a bit easier than using a traditional PC. I feel like a tablet would be better to suit her needs.

The internet in our house is slow because of a cheap old WI-FI Router. Alot of people use the Wi-Fi and it is SLOWWWWW so I want to gift my entire family a brand new router to make everybody happy if all of them use the Wi-Fi at once.

So I saw this http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-AC3200-Tri-Band-Router-DIR-890L/dp/B00PVD81MK/ref=sr_1_18?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449868739&sr=1-18&keywords=router

(I dont know if this is in the correct currency as I live in New Zealand)

Thanks Guys for the past give-aways its always fun to try my luck in them ;)

Wow this was old as heck, Need to update this signature!

My parents are always paraniod about backing up data, which is important to do, but it gets a bit excessive in their case. They currently have an ancient Apple Time capsule, but they barely use Apple products. I would give my parents a NetGear Wifi Router that comes with a 1TB backup drive. That would allow them to have decent internet speed and range as well as a good backup option for all of their devices. Their old time capsule router/backup drive has such poor range they only have wifi in half the house and it is really time for an upgrade.

I would like to gift my father a new NAS since the old one just gave up this year (for god's sake the data on the hdds wasn't screwed up and we managed to rescue it) and currently he fumbles around with his usb hard drive what is just inconvenient when he wants to watch a movie or backup his data.

I would like to get a new wireless router like http://amzn.com/B00K3EPYP4 for my parents because they are currently using a router provided by the service provider and it is horrid and ancient. Also they still pay for it in their monthly bill as a rental. They are using more and more wireless devices like a smart t.v., smart phones, ipads and laptops, and the current router they use keeps over heating an crapping out on them and they call me over every time to reset it.

I encourage him to buy a digital recorder like  zoom h4n but he said it's expensive, he was starting to get interested in audio systems, he is a hobbyists in terms of Audio.. but not in digital way. =)) i.e those crips and warm sound from an analog mixer are the best when he mixed it.  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

I'd really like to give my mother a 1080p TV

She currently uses a 768p screen and because of her visibility disorder she needs to stay literally in front of the TV just to enjoy her shows. I'd like to have her at least get a decent experience rather than a blurry image in front of her nose.

As a college student I left my parents house to pursue my dream of becoming a computer engineer, but since I'm the only one in my family who knows how to deal with electronics and I can't visit them often I get an unreasonable amount of phone calls asking to diagnose networking issues. This is where the On-hub Wireless Router from Google and TP-LINK comes in. With this new gadget I will be able to diagnose and resolve issues even when I'm out of the city. No more of those long and tedious phone calls, I finally think I found the one object that will bring peace not only to my dear parents, but also to the cell towers with absurd amount of talk time.

Great Giveaway, I like the idea very much!

This year, I would love to give a Logitech Harmony 950 remote control to my parents, as they use a variety of different media systems and have to use several remote controls just to watch TV, and don't get how to use all of them. So they call very frequently and ask me to help them, to watch TV. This remote-control would solve the problem and they can watch TV without my help.

Thanks again for the giveaway and Merry Christmas to all of you!

I'd gift a new M.2 SSD to my sister (we like to call her the Odd Tree) to put in her G771, that I recommended her buy... that she says turns on slow (all the computers in our house are SSD driven except hers). My parents, having spent the pile of $ on her laptop already didn't want to spend extra to get this "non-essiential item" for her. I've selected an Intel SSD strictly because of their industry reputation for reliability; afterall, she does use this laptop for school day-in-day-out.

I want to get a soundbar for my grandma's new tv. It was impressive to me that, being 80 years old, she learned to use the netflix app on it, but she always complains about the speakers not being loud enough.

Thanks for doing this giveaway!
