I don't wish to start another thread just to post some pics, so I hope the OP doesn't mind if I do this here.....it is a DS 3 after all. Anyway, I just got back, do note that the box differs from the regular ones by having the stylized Chinese snake character on the box:

Just opened the box, the beauty is awaiting inside...

Well, mine's #462 of 999

A final pic, I'd messed around with the various LED setting and it's fun, kind of hard to type with the Ripple effect though.

Just out of curiosity, how does the keyboard feel? Like, is the weight respectable? Any flex? (Directing my question to mainly the normal plastic shine 3)

It has quite a bit of weight to it, and absolutely no flex whatsoever. It's absolutely rock solid.

Lucky.... I was late to the Shine 3 party and both tigerimports.net and Mechanicalkeyboards.com are out of all the cherry mx blues except for Orange backlit and White backlit, both of which I don't want....

I went for the white backlit one because they didn't have any blues left. It actually looks sweet though - it's got a bit of a blue tint to it.

I just got mine today in the mail. I gotta say even though razer uses cherry blues they feel quite different

I know, right? It's supposed to be Blue, yet feels lighter than the Blues on Ducky...some have said that perhaps we were referring to the Stealth which uses Brown instead of Blue. I wasn't convinced and tried out the Blue on the BWU 2013 and it still felt a tad lighter than the Blues I'm used to.

I totally agree with you. the ones on the ducky has more oomph to it when typing while the razer BWU felt somewhat hollow to me =/

I had mechanicalkeyboards.com (same company as tiger imports) reserve one for me . I couldn't get one until I moved into college so I paid for it early and had them delay shipping. I ordered a cherry mx blue with blue led.

For the love of God, don't start down this road! :blink:  I started out wanting three mechanical KB's for my 3 rigs.......as of now, I have 15 MKB's. It's not over yet, I still have a Leopold FC660M Cherry Clear and a YOTS Cherry Blue on the way (both have been fully paid up).

 

would you be willing to sell any of these?

Looking at your system specs and the number of mechanical keyboards you have, I would have to say "damn you're rich!"

But hey, can never have enough mechanical keyboards. Right now I have a Logitech G710+ and loving it. Removed the rubber O rings from it though as I didn't like the experience with them and I also wanted to hear the sound of the key switches. I'm actually considering getting a Ducky with Blue Cherry MX switches for my tech bag. Any suggestions?

Yep, it was just released in my neck of the woods yesterday. Got a call from the local distributer, I'd reserved and fully paid for one, and made my way there. I was trying to decide whether to go with a Brown or a Blue, decided on the latter after messing around with them at the shop. The light effects on this badboy is spectacular, I like the Wave and Ripple effects. BTW, there's a firmware update that fixes some issues, and adds a new lighting effect called Aurora....pretty nifty.

Actually gonna sell my first two mechanical KB's, the Trigger Red and the Armaggeddon MKA-3 Cherry Red.....kind of grown tired of Reds. My Ducky Shine 2 78Version (the one with the grey key caps) has Red for the alphanumeric keys, but since it's a collector's KB with a limited run (only 399 worldwide) I'd never sell that. Anyway, when I've cleared these two keyboards, I plan to get a Ducky TKL keyboard with Cherry White. My Leopold should be in sometime next week.....as well as my 2nd HHKB Pro 2 (white case) to go with my present Pro 2 (Dark grey case).

Yep, can never have too many, right now, I swap around my keyboards when I get tired of a particular switch or keyboard. But admittedly, I've not grown tired of my two Topre keyboards (the Realforce (yellow key caps in pic) and HHKB Pro 2 drak grey with blue key caps in pic), hence my determination to get yet another HHKB Pro 2 (white).

 

Seriously, any Ducky from Shine 2 onwards would be good, DS3 would let you have more added lighting effects. The feel and build quality of both Shine 2 and Shine 3 is practically the same....so, a DS2 or a DS3 would be just fine. IF you don't care for back light, then the DK9008G2 Pro would be the one to look at. Some come with nice dye sublimated key caps (in other words, the legends on the keys would not fade), I'm actually considering one with Cherry White switch IF I can't find a TKL model.

 

Also, please note that I ain't rich, just have no familial responsibilities as I'm single, and it 'helps' that I don't have a life outside of my 'puters. :wacko:

That is absolutely beautiful, I am so jealous ... I'm still using an especially crappy rubber dome keyboard .  I might consider a Ducky zero or CM Storm keyboard later this year though.

You mean these? Filco MJ2 Ninja (White case has Cherry Black, black case has Cherry Brown) 

Switch wise, the Cherry Black on my Ninja feels no different from the Black on my DK9087G2 Pro, and the Black on my Keycool 84 LED....that is to say, the switch is as good as any noted keyboard maker. I can't comment about the Brown on my Ninja simply because it's my only Brown switch KB. Build quality is excellent, if anything, a tad better than Ducky. I don't use them as often now as I have too many KB's to mess with. Suffice to say, you can't go wrong with any Filco or Ducky KB.

I use the same keyboard with the same switches, I just have red backlight and I use metal keycaps on the WASD keys. I really like it so far.
