BenQ XL2720Z users here?

Afiqos4253

Hello! I'm kind of in a bind on what 1080p gaming monitor to get and stumbled upon the BenQ XL2720Z. Looks pretty good and priced at SGD$688. I was wondering if there are users of this monitor that can give me their opinions on whether it is good and reliable or not.

Also, if there are better 144hz monitors, please, let me know as this monitor is kinda pushing my budget :P

Overpriced. XL2411Z is just as good and cheaper. So is Asus VG248QE.

Any reason for a 144hz monitor? Are you into competitive gaming?

Nope, I love it, the XL2720Z is the same thing but 27in, so if you want go ahead and get it.

27 inch 1080p is reaally underwhelming, especially if you have a high ppi device like a laptop or a mobile phone.

I have the xl2420z while I wait for the acer 34" in September, I like it and the price aint to shabby. I'd go for the 24" over the 27" 1080p @ 27" doesn't look the best imho.

XL2720Z is better than 2420Z or 2411Z.  I have the XL2720Z.  Get it with version 4 firmware and you will be happy.

The 24" panels suffer from gamma degredation and color fidelity loss as the refresh rate increases,  The 27" does not.  it remains spot on.

If I had to choose any of the three for free, I would always choose the 2720Z.

Version 2 FW was bad.  V4 firmware on the XL2720Z recalibrated the over aggressive AMA in blur reduction mode and made it look like a $500 monitor SHOULD look (I even posted pictures comparing V2 and V4 earlier if you want to search).  It also added a 2nd AMA high setting that is only accessible if blur reduction is turned on FIRST.  This setting is worthless unless you reduce contrast to 0-10.

V3 firmware no one really knows about.  Benq said V3 fixed "profiles" but I don't know if it was dumped or not.
