Who cares what people "think". Are you happy with how the E10 sounds? Then you're done amp shopping.

Is this your absolute knowledge, or is it 'other people say so'?

One absolute thing a headphone needs is just an adequate, stable signal power driving it. If you got this, then you're done basically.

Different amps yields different sounds due to different components and circuit architectures implemented. Problem is, the differences are kinda astronomical. Even if you can hear the difference, you gotta strain your ears to notice it. Not an ideal casual listening scenario. And it's just that, different, not necessarily better.

Try experimenting with different amps (in stores, or headphone meets, or friends' amps) to see how much you can perceive the differences. Decide whether to upgrade your amp or not after that....

I'm slightly surprised that the FiiO E10K isn't giving you a satisfactory result.  What specifically are you unhappy with?

I have heard that the SMSL SD793-II is a step above without breaking the bank.  It is not USB powered, so it is more powerful.

You arent going to get anything significantly (or at all) better than E10K.

Most people would go with crack + speedball upgrade or lyr 2 or valhalla.

If i have to spend another 200 dollar on amp or more, I could just get HE-400i or HE-500 which i know I'll like better compared to my HD600

Just enjoy your music first unless you feel like there's something wrong with your gears

I've owned a $700 system to go along with my 650's.... you don't need it dude. Fancy amps are mostly snake oil.
