Im too scared to take it up into the loft to take 'studio' (lol) pics as the paint will still scratch easily even tho its hard enough to handle.....

Oi, copper!

While I must admit that it is at times frustrating to be stuck in eternal pause mode

on my own build, the cool thing is that I can pick up inspiration from other builds

in the meantime to improve the end result. :D

So now we are all about storage, fast and slow...

For the fast I have a trio of Crucial m200 SSD's of the 240Gb flavour.

qExB2uL.jpg

All on nice polished 2mm copper mounts.

For the slow...

Well,WD is my usual choice and why change a habit?

A pair of 3Tb Reds will take care of the bulk and a pair of RAIDed 500 Gb Blacks for the scratch drive.

9IXWCEa.jpg

The idea is to get some copper plates to stack them together for more storage and to level off the lines.

HICzhol.jpg

8d4TqkI.jpg

A whole lotta storage bins there....

gliu1tA.jpg

A desticker operation is in order once they have been tested!

In other news,I have ordered my Shapeoko 3!!

Some shots with the plates in place and the res is tapped and fitted in preparation for the loop start. I still need to trim the exterior of the gasket down but its completely watertight....but now it has the taste for Human flesh after the chunk it took out of my finger....

I cut 24 mm spacers for the SSD plate, to clear the Bitspower 90's connecting the pumps, and screwed directly in to the chassis for a great fit.

I dont like the background tho...this a was a black one I mistakenly washed in the machine.....with detergent......

Silly Neg.

Wow, its funny how much difference a background can make in making the build look nice. But still a beautiful build nevertheless.

IDORU makes more headway!

Slowly anyway.....

The accent parts are polished and are nearly all fitted.

aRHdvIb.jpg

Not much more to do other than sleeve and finish the loop. Tubing will be a mix of Copper and Glass tube
Just waiting on a second windowed door for the HDD side and she will be ready for EGX!

damn, those cables look awesome! absolutely nailed it with the sleeving :P

are you going to add cable combs lateron tough?

Nah,I like my cables to have a bit of scruffy going on.

Basic loop layout is done, glass tube runs to be cut after EGX....although there is such a small amount of straight runs that I may just use the glass on another build,it would look like it was thrown in for the sake of it.

This case is one of the few reasons I wish I was a modder. That price tag is terrifying.

Anyways, I've always been very mixed to negative of copper heavy builds, but I like this.

INTEL CORE i5-7600K | ASUS ROG STRIX B250i GAMING | CRUCIAL BALLISTIX SPORT LT 16GB | EVGA GTX 970 SC | EVGA B3 550W
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB | CRYORIG M9i | BE QUIET! PURE WINGS 2| FRACTAL DESIGN DEFINE NANO S

Wait did you say glass? That will probably look awesome but will be super difficult to make.

Yup,12mm borosillicate glass,I have a bundle of it sitting here..

In other news, the loop is in and polished. Ready for a leaktest!

I changed it from the original design as the tube blocked the pumps....
