FAIL - Gigabyte eSupport

MeltingPoint

I'm sorry Gigabyte, but it looks like your eSupport needs a little support.

I contacted Gigabyte's tech support about a motherboard. I wanted to know if their GA-H97N-WIFI board supports CPU mult. overclocking because Asus and ASRock has (or had) this feature on their H-series boards.

Too bad they can't answer a simple question.

I suppose Asus and ASRock H boards on the latest bios can also no longer OC via multiplier because Intel got mad and disabled the exploit?

you could've asked us. we could have told you no.

I was abou to do so but I decided i would get more definite answers straight from them

not from what I've heard. I know Intel got pretty pissed off, but I don't think they ever did anything about it.

although I could be wrong.

I was actually darn frustrated and amazed at the same time. I dont know if I should get mad or just laugh at their failure.

I kept it professional in hopes of squeezing the damn answer from them

From what i've read, Intel made a "microcode" that was going to fix the exploit and forced the manufacturers to include it in thier new bios revs

Since its betterto ask the community for answers, are the asrock and asus h-series boards still capable of multiplier OC?

OP updated with reply from the stupid tech support. Answer is a bit better but still unacceptable. They cannot answer a YES or NO question.

Although I know I need a Z series board for OCing, still... Fuck you gigabyte!

This is MSI. Of course, they would fuck up support.
