Anime Club - Heaven Society

It's ironic that a slasher/intentional killer is not trying to kill people, now.  In Trigun he never wanted to kill anyone, but Kenshin always had the lust to kill.  There's a difference.  Kenshin is based on Kawakami Gensai, a Hitokiri from the 1800s.

@valdyrgramr

I seem to recall in the anime of Rurouni Kenshin he kind of got his name from fighting in times of war while that really wasn't what he wanted to do it. Although maybe I just dont  recall correctly but he always seemed to not have a lust to kill in the anime he was always trying to do the opposite.

I just installed this, does it actually help?

Yeah it does. It takes up a lot of resources though. Sorry for the late reply. I've been semi MIA due to certain things.

I hate way too open minded people on Youtube.  Seriously, I'm not going to play fanboy, like them.

Not "way too open minded", but relativist. They're not open minded, they just want to believe that every opinion is roughly equal and/or has real merit. It's really just a defense mechanism against criticism equivalent to plugging your ears and shouting "LALALALALA", as they can never really back up their arguments with any reasoning stronger than "well that's just, like, your opinion, man".

By contrast, a "way too open minded" person will be able to admit when they're probably wrong and when the like something that's total shit - they just don't really care all that much.

He stopped responding when I asked him to ask a highly credited music teacher, and then finally gave him a source.  My source was Oxford, and his source is Wikipedia.  I'm being a dick to him on Youtube, though.  It's usually what I do with people being that ignorant.  He really doesn't believe that, by fact, music is expressive art.  I mean it is common knowledge.  They teach it to very young children.  He even said a music theory class is not a reliable source even if you were a straight A student.  So, I asked him if slapping a cancer patient would cure them because I perceive it to be true.

Sounds like a kid who hasn't learned how to argue or reason properly yet, and is trying their best to win an argument by just saying whatever.

Ah, even worse. At least kids will just piss off and yell at better gamers on their Xbox after a while.

Wow, Digi. You're all over the place lately, and I'm kinda loving it. Don't try too hard though - AnimeSnob's sniffing around looking for excuses to troll harder.

I like that he's somewhat trolling us by calling Evangelion as Gundam Wing.

It was almost certainly just a joke in the spirit of "anime's metaness is so ridiculously samey that even *I* confuse Gundam and Evangelion sometimes".

is it really though?

Gundam and Eva seem pretty different to me.

By volume there's an ocean's worth of more comparable (borderline derivative) material

but I guess the two are more ubiquitous

That's probably the reason why. I too did a double-take for the same reason, but Digi's channel is one of the most mainstream ones, so I wouldn't be surprised if most viewers didn't even spot that he was showing Evangelion while saying Gundam.

IIRC that thing had a "dramatic" scene in it about death that was borderline unintended comedy

"It was just a prank bro"

Very little I remember about it

krim why do you love wasting time so much

Heh. We all did it at the stage of anime-lovin' that he's at, let him :)

I couldn't take Busters for more than a couple of episodes. So very, very Key. It was like solving a math formula.... a very rote and dry math formula with very basic characterization. The only excitement I was deriving was in anticipating whether I would have to wait 4, 8 or 16 episodes before the dramatic stuff began. I might have enjoyed it a bit more if it at least did that Air style "what is this silly random nonsense?" supernatural stuff.

Indeed. I sqee'd a little. Not that I think it's as strong of a romance story as I wish it was, but it's certainly high time for a more unique anime again.
