Snapy1

I felt like puking the shit out when I saw that. I mean, black moulding on white body? Ugggglyyyyy! Rims could also get an upgrade.

My grandfather gave it too me before he passed. I wasn't gunna say no.

@Hoppa, I hope you notice that it only makes 350HP. Supras can make upwards of 700 HP, even more than @Ryan Leech's pic of his 800HP RAM. Wow, it says 2JZ-GE, not GTE. Wasn't the 2JZ-GTE 6 speed, not 5 speed? How wide and big are the meats?

Oh wow, it just said the other week it made 400hp.

I don't really want a 700hp car or anything. 300hp is enough for me.

I'm not too sure on the specifics, but I'll have to call the dude up and ask him about it.

My family used to have a 1989 VN commodore in a pale bluish colour. Looks fairly the same as yours. Had a shit-brown interior and was an awesome car :D

I absolutely love my car :D It's got nearly 300,000Kms on the clock but it's still going strong. I'm hoping it'll last until I get my full license (I'm on my Ps at the moment) ^_^

My first car was older than me and no fun to drive so I got a job, saved up and bought my current car from a private owner online. I've got a 2007 Nissan 350Z with a little over 90k miles on it. There's a couple more photos on my Flickr if anyone's interested.

Don't have a picture on me right now, but a trek aluminum frame bike very similar to this.

Meanwhile I'm enjoying all the electronics that I can buy from not having to pay for insurance, gas, car payments, parking etc  :D

I used to drive a 1999 Buick Regal LS (unfortunately the non-supercharged version). It's a 3.8L V6 with ~200HP. Was a pretty solid car, but it eventually died one too many times and had to be retired.

Last year I got the chance to drive a 700hp Supra and trust me it isn't as awesome as it sound. It would be awesome to tell everyone you have a car that produces 700hp but driving isn't that great. The car was really fidgety and struggles to put any power down and it also had so much turbo lag...

it all depends on the setup of the vehicle, I can drive my truck anywhere no problem, but I have no luxuries in it at all, no ac/heat, no radio, it's a trade off for what I wanted in it.  The Cobra produces almost as much power, but can corner and still maintains all the options and drives in stop/go traffic like a factory car

The thing that irks me about these japanese supped up imports, like fancy civics and skylines, etc, is that you can make ANY car have 700HP with enough time and money. I wish people would stop comparing a tricked out import with a stock american car. If you're gonna compare cars, compare stock to stock, or tuned to tuned. If I had $500,000 to waste, I could take a GEO Metro and give it 700HP. It would still be a piece of crap, but it would have 700HP.

I like American cars. I live in North America, they're generally big, fast, and drive reasonably well. I also like Japanese cars. They are generally fairly reliable, more fuel efficient, and drive reasonably well. But if we're talking high-end, blow your mind away, then nothing beats European. German or Italian is pretty much the way of things (Bugatti, Mercedes, Lambo, etc).

Also to @terrytek

"Naw, naw, naw. Imports beat 'Merican muscle any day. Ever see a Camaro get under 9 secs on straightaway? Nope. Only Civics can do that."

If you're referring to 1/4 drag racing, what? A stock civic could not hope to dream of ever doing 1/4 mile in under 4 seconds. Therefore you're referring to a tuned civic. In which case, lots of tuned Camaro's can also do under 9 seconds. I really don't see your point here? Your hate of American cars is clouding your logic and judgement.

Besides, 1/4 drag races are totally overrated. What happens when you need to turn? A real challenge is to put two cars up against each other in a circuit with both long straight aways and plenty of twists and turns. That way you can test acceleration and handling, and find out which car balances each best. A car that goes really fast in a straight line but can't turn worth a damn is basically just a torpedo. Fire and pray the target doesn't move.

Many of these cars were never designed to have engines producing that much horse-power. As you said its all about how they are setup and if they are setup properly then these cars will be able to corner, brake and accelerate (without just doing endless burnouts). I'm sure that supra I drove was good on the track but driving it on the road and in traffic it was pretty bad.

My daily driver is a 2010 Dodge Charger.

On free weekends, I'm at my Uncle's warehouse restoring my '65 Mustang. It's done mechanically, working on the body right now. These pictures are a couple months old. It's almost ready for paint. Just have some minor body work yet to do, then I can start paint prep.

Converting to a single big turbo can often do that. It may not be very responsive or tractable, but it has its own appeal.

90s turbo setups feel very different from modern-day implementations anyway with low inertia components, low friction bearings and variable turbine geometries.

I drive a less pretty version of this

13906d1370107240-my-new-dart-rallye-w-st

same color, but cheaper looking wheels and without the fog lamps and smoked out headlamps.  Still looks good, just not THAT good.  Which is probably good, I already feel guilty every time I pass a new corolla/civic/focus owner for making their cars look so bad when next to mine.

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

NOTHING WILL BEAT A DIESEL

That's a 2000hp motor right there

Here's Cummin's latest 4000hp beast:

Meh, I still think import gas engines are sexier than that garbage. Imports can rev all the way to 10K, unlike restricted diesels. Diesel trucks suck at acceleration. All import engines look sexy. Especially the 2JZ-GTE, K20, RB26DET, all turboed, all sexy.

Man, I hate US auto import restrictions so bad. They say, in order to import a car, it has to be at least 25 years old or brought up to emissions and safety standards. The Skyline R34 wouldn't fit those specs, so it def ain't eligible. Damn it. Those cars are so sexy just driving it around town.
