Beautiful cases with good airflorw

Hi LTT,

It's been ages since I last build a computer, but with the launch of the 3080, I find myself looking to build again. Can any of you recommend me a beautiful ATX case with good airflow too?

Do you have a price range? These days there are good airflow case options from the low to the high end.

I don't know what cases costs today to be honest. Can a $200 max do it?

You could even get by with 50 totally depends on the whole budget of the computer.

I'm building it to last 3-4 years, so my budget would be around $2500. It' gonna be a 3080 and probably a 10600/10700K.

You might want to wait until October 8th when new Ryzen CPUs are announced.

Airflow asside, Beauty is entirely dependent on the person. Some will tell you the NZXT H510 is beautiful because of it's minimalist design. Some will tell you the Cougar Conqurer is the most beautiful due to it's aggressive design elements and unique layout. 

 

Giving us an idea on what your standard of beauty is can help us pick between a Pure Base 500DX vs a TD500 Mesh vs a P400A vs a Meshify C vs a Mastercase H500 vs a NR600 vs cases i could sit here and list till I draw my last breathe

You're right, it's different for all of us. I've been looking at the Lian Li cases. I like when it's made almost entirely of glass, I was actually thinking of getting a case that I could mount on the wall. I'm probably gonna go for the exploding rainbow theme too, I just like them pretty lights

I'm not gonna build it myself, so I won't have to deal with annoying cases, that won't be my problem. I do prefer a case, where the PSU is hidden.

Sounds like you're referring to the PC-O4, O5, O6 and O7 which unfortunately they dont make any more. The similar version to that would be thermatake's Core P3, P5 or the G3

The P3/P5 looks beautiful. Is it open in the ends though? That would probably suck when it comes to acoustics

That's another thing I forgot to mention. I like a computer to be somewhat silent. I got the Define R5 case right now, and it's been really good when it comes to the acoustics.

Yes it's an "open case" with the traditional "top, front, bottom and rear" being completely open, so if using a case such as that, appropriate fans should be chosen for the best acoustic performance. 

 

Fans are the most important element to silence as they are the leading contributor to it. Unless you plan on having lots of spinning hard drives or water pumps, your best bet for a quieter system is better quieter fans with a custom fan curve.

IIRC in GamerNexus' case reviews the more open, airflow optimized cases tend to perform favorably against more closed, silence optimized cases when looking at cooling performance at a normalized noise level.

 

This is because the less restrictive case allows you to spin your fans slower to achieve the same level of cooling.

I would go with M.2 drives and probably an AIO cooler. My computer is located in our bedroom at the moment, so I need to think about acoustics too.

AiOs are not any quieter than an air cooler with good fans.

When I built mine, I was looking for good airflow and didn't want something super loud, but it also had to house my 3HDD and 3SSD.

 

I went with the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh Performance. They do offer an RGB version that does light up pretty well.

 

I saw a short YT story that had that had the RGB version with Lian Li Uni-Fan SL-120s in it. really pretty! Not sure how quiet it was though.

No, but they look better and cleaner I love air coolers and I really love my Noctua. But if I'm gonna build a on-display PC, then I'm probably not gonna use a air cooler.
