will my PSU run a gtx750ti?

so... i buy an ASUS GTX 750 TI OC 2gb. the page say that i need 300w and i wonder if my thermaltake 350w will run it. the GPU needs a 6pin connector but my PSU doesn't have one so i need to buy a molex to 6pin adapter.

my other specs are:

ASUS h81m-k mother board

Intel i7-4770

1x4gb ddr3 ram + 1x2gb ddr3 ram

1xHDD 7500rpm 1tb

11HDD 7500rpm 500gb.

i put some photos of my PSU and GPU

 

my english is terrible...sorry.

Could it? Maybe.

Should you? No.

 

It is a low end low quality psu that is quite old already. I would not trust it to power anything else than what you have now. The gtx750 can be too much and cause issues that could lead to the death of your computer as the psu can't handle the extra power draw.

 

So until it is replaced with a QUALITY unit I would not upgrade anything.

Does that card need PCIe 6 power? Most 750 ti’s don’t... they just use mobo PCIe slot power.

 

If that is the case, it’s like ok. Not the best PSU, but.... that GPU won’t draw a lot of power if it doesn’t need 6 pin power. If it does, technically the PSU has the wattage, but 16 amps on the 12v rail is not a lot. If the card needs 6 pin power, I would be weary of using the PSU.

i mean... probably? As with anyone who comes to the forum with their local potential fire-hazard i recommend you get a new PSU as well, preferably one with an actual PCIe 6pin but i have a feeling you wouldnt have that 750TI if you had that budget atm

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

The 750 TI is one of the best GPUs to run on crappy old power supplies so I would say it's fine.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad
