Oh, yes, I'm stupid. 

for 5.25" bays, look at the:

Fractal Focus G (it's cheap, sure, but airflow is pretty good)

Deepcool Tesseract BF (it's ancient, but works)

BQ PB600 (airflow is eh, it's a silent case, after all)

Phanteks enthoo pro (the best here, imo)

 

Get the enthoo, it's practically the best here. Full tower convenience, coupled with rad support

Can't find any listing for the lancool II mesh, but whenever that's available, it'd be a good one too

None of those has a 5.25" bay, unfortunately.

 

My two picks would be Corsair's Air 540 and 450D - they're a little older now, so they lack the tempered glass, PSU shroud (in the case of the 450D) and front panel USB-C, but they're good in terms of airflow (actually the 540 is about as good as it gets) and also both feature a couple 5.25" bays.

There's also the Fractal Design's Define series, though you'd be sacrificing on airflow there quite a bit.

ended up going with the behemoth that is the Phanteks Enthoo Pro Tempered Glass. and yes i do regret spending this much on a case. I actually wanted the carbide air 540 but its way too damn expensive
