Gaming on Intel 9100f

Peace everyone, I'm new here and trying to build myself a budget gaming pc.

I've found myself a good deal on Intel core i3 9100f with an Asus H110M-K micro-ATX Intel LGA1151 Motherboard. With an asus rx580 dual OC.

Can someone please tell me  how your experiences were with Intel 9100f core i3?

Highly appreciated.

Don't get it. It won't work. The i3 9100 is not compatible with 100 and 200 series boards. Also it's a 4 core cpu in 2020 which is really bad for gaming nowadays. A ryzen 1600af costs about the same and will be much much better for gaming.

Basically it's a 6th gen i5 with no iGPU, not worth in imo. I would go Ryzen 2600 for just a bit more, or get a used 6th gen i5 for less.

I'm from Pakistan.  I had found this deal and it's in  pakistani Rupees. In the same price range I also found ryzen 3 3200g. I do have a 450watt psu but  I'll have it replaced later after the pandemic. 2 hdd's of 0.5tb and 1tb.

And I'll look into ryzen 5 1600 Af, haven't checked if it's available in my country.

And yes I have low varying budget which I can manage but do lemme know your thoughts.

Either way your 9100f + h110 bundle doesn't work as that board does not support the cpu.

That was just there to prove the point that i3 9100f is quite pointless ;) - and show that it's performance is similar to a 4 yo i5.

I didn't know that. That's highly appreciated.

So what kind of processor would I need for that motherboard.?

Nothing worth the money. Even used 6th or 7th gen i7's go for far too much.

Some hardware you should look for:

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu/#s=60&sort=price&C=6&xcx=0

or

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (12nm) 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor (YD1600BBAFBOX) - PCPartPicker

and at least one of these motherboards is usually quite affordable.

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/jcYQzy,h7WBD3,XJbCmG,kRTzK8/

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/dQgzK8,Pq97YJ,kcCFf7,zzkgXL/

so you should get the cheapest among them

the cheapest DDR4 3000 or 3200 you can get is a good choice too, make sure you get 2 sticks and not 1.

Edited by Fasauceome

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
