Low FPS in The Witcher 3 on gtx 1070.

zaki owais

I'm getting around 60fps  ( barely ) on my gtx 1070 . I have the set the graphics to the ultra preset.  But from all the Youtube videos, I should be getting 80-90 fps. Where as , I'm only getting 60.
The GPU usage is at 100% . I do have the latest drivers.
So what's keeping my pc from gettin 20 more frames?

lots of youtube benchmark videos are "simulated" performance. Did you find any reviews where someone actually shows that they have the hardware?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

No... 60 fps is about right on a 1070 with everything on and turned up all the way. I have to turn settings down, even resolution (unfortunately), to get 100 fps on 21:9 3440x1440.

YouTube videogame benchmarks aren't always the best thing to look at to determine performance. Having played The Witcher 3 many times since it came out on a couple different rigs and resolutions, depending on the rest of your system the FPS you are getting seems about right for Ultra settings.

Main Desktop: CPU - i9-14900k | Mobo - Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 | GPU - ASUS TUF Gaming OC RTX 4090 RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 64GB 3600mhz | AIO - H150i Pro XT | PSU - Corsair RM1000X | Case - Phanteks P500A Digital - White | Storage - Samsung 970 Pro M.2 NVME SSD 512GB / Sabrent Rocket 1TB Nvme / Samsung 860 Evo Pro 500GB / Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2tb Nvme / Samsung 870 QVO 4TB  |

80FPS average is about right when at 1080p with hair works off, but that also depends on the location you're at while checking.

Hairworks? Location? AA? Resolution?

I get 60 fps almost everywhere. But I saw a guy get over 80fps in this area.
