I'm confused as to why you don't think naming the game is important for people to know.

I saw that thread, I don't agree with it and your logic escapes me.

So you don't name the game for your own mental excitement.  Interesting.

Again, thanks for finding the game at least.

Thanks?...

Not just my excitement, the people getting the free games as well.

I'm perfectly fine with my logic escaping you but I have no clue how you could possibly not agree with what I'm doing. If you celebrate Christmas or occasions where you give gifts, do you just hand someone something without wrapping it? I don't just hand someone a toaster, I wrap it up. I suppose I'm a festive type of individual.

When you receive something for free, knowing what it is doesn't present any element of surprise, thus making it less interesting. I want my posts to be somewhat interesting otherwise there's no reason to create them and there'd be no reason for people to click on them. Leaving out the title presents these elements.

Your idea of a festive gift is a toaster? No wonder people don't follow your logic.

Have you used a modern toaster before? You'd be surprised of their capabilities and just how much you need to spend to avoid cheap knock-offs. I like the reheat button because if you're one to forget that you toasted bread sometimes(I do this all the time) then you can reheat it without further burning it.

According to GOG, it also comes with a code for Wasteland 1, so it's a double freebie.

I noticed that but playing the original game is painful so I tried to avoid anything to do with it.

Will my packard bell 486dx with 4 mb of memory be able to play this? I just purchased a (prrrrretty) kick ass used 2x CD Rom and sound blaster card and can't wait to try this sweet hardware out. I've been playing scorched earth for the past 25 years and am pretty bored with it now.

No. Never have I made toast, or any other food and then gone... Shit, I forgot I just made a sandwich!

...well... yeah. You need to have an account with any online store for things with price tags. Most still require an account even for things without. This isn't a "free" game like War Thunder or Warframe (Both of which require an account to play.)

Haha. I mean, forgetting that the toast is in the toaster. Happens to me all the time in the morning because I put bread in the toaster, make coffee, take a shower and forget all about the toast because I'm in a hurry or still half asleep. So when I go to prepare the coffee after it's done, bread is forgotten.

It should be like tada, 8 free games appeared. Granted, they're all pretty much text based, but Tyrian is fun to mess around in.

I installed the free GOG game Tyrian 2000 approximately 32 days ago on my new laptop since it only runs low demanding games. I like it a lot. Reminds me of Legendary Wings. Which is one of the best NES games of all time imo.

There's a few dozen free GOG games that are surprisingly fun. I like Beneath A Steel Sky and Eschalon Book I.

Also got Bio Menace and Stargunner installed but have yet to try them out. There's another one where you start in a prison cell and have to find a way out. It's surprisingly fun if you like P&C games. Trying to find the name of it right now.

EDIT: Lure of the Temptress is the game. Released 27 years ago in 1992. Ha, it's tough for PC games to be interesting from those early 90's nowadays. I guess because I was playing Sega Genesis at the time. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Mortal Kombat to be precise. Both released in 1992. There's something about Lure of the Temptress though that kept me playing a month ago when I gave it a chance.

I haven't seen anything else on GOG outside of what they give you free when signing up. Tyrian has a bunch of secrets, hidden levels, weapons, etc. I managed to get into a secret mission where I had to save a bunch of literal beer mugs bouncing around on screen. I feel like pretzels were also involved, but I might just be making that up for some reason.

Stargunner looks about the same except it's a sidescroller instead of... an upscroller?

Oh wow. I would imagine this is because when you visit the free game page, it shows several demos(which are surprisingly very good and pretty lengthy demos). To find the numerous free games, you have to slowly look through them all. Lots of DLC, weapon packs, video teasers, etc, etc to sift through as well. It can be tough to find games you'd actually want to play too so keep that in mind. What I do is watch a quick gameplay on the free games I find and let that determine whether or not to install and give it a try.

Eh. It did start out as Good Old Games, and frankly I don't have the 3 inch thick nostalgia goggles to bother playing them. Tyrian is fun, Beneath a Steel Sky was alright, but outside of those... Meh. I think I tried Ultima or Temptress at one point in time.

Doubt it. When something has single digit mb's of RAM, there's really no prayer for it to do much graphically. You're gonna want to try and run games that run on kilobytes rather than megabytes or gigabytes. NES, Sega Genesis emulators. Etc, etc. I know tons of those types of games if you're interested.
