What would you do with this motherboard/CPU combo unit?

I found this in a box of random computer gear my boss gave me. I assume it works and was just stopped being used when they updated to a new board/cpu. I haven't ever tried it though. It it does work, what do you think it's worth? It's at my parent's home in Kansas right now and don't know if it's worth shipping here to California. I have no clue what the board is, but both CPU's are an i7-3970X or at least that's what they look like in the photos. ignore the box ;) The board might be the ASUS dual socket Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard but I've never plugged it in and don't know if it works or not. According to ebay sales it might be worth upwards of $500 but that could be totally false haha. Don't really know what' I'm looking at here.

Having a 12 core computer could be useful if you want to do some productivity tasks, like video/photo editing or CAD. If you don't or if you have a better computer it is not that useful for gaming having two cpus would making gaming difficult even if you put a decent gpu in it.

any sort of clue what it may be worth? I literally have no clue if it works or not :/ been sitting in a motherboard box not in a static sleeve for probably 4 years...

the static bag only protects from discharges that happen when you take it out of the box or when you put it in the box, it is not a magic bag saving anything from the dangers of electricity

if you want you can sell cpus alone, them motherboard as untested, i would ask those 500 dollars you mention, see if there is interest and if not, lower the price

the two i7 cost like 120 dollars, the motherboard has to cost more, go with that idea, see how it goes

Hunt on ebay, but probably about $300 to 500, depending on cpu. Id check if it works first and see it all the cpu cores show up.

It would be really weird if those were i7s, cause those can't be used in dual socket boards
