Razer showing ads!

Go to solution Solved by brandon0852,

i was pissed too when i saw it. but then digging in settings i noticed it was called notifications and you can disable it.

Hi

Yes you heard right! Razer used their Synapse software to display an ad directly om my computer. The ad was shown at 4th October 2019 in the bottom right corner of my screen. Not only do Razer force unnotified updates to their Synapse software without warning. But now they are showing ads as well !? Now I'm really pissed, and I'm considering taking legal action against Razer.

Now you know!

This does not count as "tech news".  I've moved this topic.  You also won't be able to take legal action against them for several reasons, and if you did, you would lose guaranteed.  Just remove the software and if you really want stop buying their products.  Sounds like you can just disable this in the settings though so no need for any of that.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I have stopped buying their products after their unscheduled software uppdates. But I can't uninstall the software because I unfortunately need it for my Tartarus. And I need the Tartarus, cause i haven't found anyone else who sells a similar item in Norway.

Now that said, yes I could take legal action against Razer without the risk of loosing. I could offer my case to a law firm. And then make an agreement that if the law firm is willing to take the cost, they get to keep 100% of the claim if they win. Easy as that. But most importantly, it should give Razer a  serious economic sting for disrespecting their customers.

Then by all means please go for it.  Perhaps you can get them to do something about the poor reliability to, we'd all appreciate that

Poor reliability !? That’s like saying I have to buy a new Tartarus soon. And it’s not even mechanical keys. It’s membrane! Noisy click membrane! This is even worse than I thought (followed by two “!!”)

Well they do sell  the orbweaver, which has mechanical keys... I was looking for something similar as well.

But I just can't justify the price for it. So I just bought some 60% keyboards instead and got addicted to buying mechkeyboard related items.
