Hello,

Wondering what I'm missing here. This seems too good to be true.

You're very wise for seeking out that model, but it's about $100 short of the price it currently is on Amazon...

Personally, I see nothing overly sketchy about the site and would recommend the following:

  • Create a virtual card using a service like Privacy.com
  • Set aforementioned card with a spending limit only a dollar or so above your total
  • Use said card to purchase
  • You will know immediately if there are further attempted withdrawls from the card, indicating a scam
  • If such are made, they will fail. Track your shipment, and if the item does not arrive contest the charge under grounds of unreceived product
  • If none are made, and your shipment arrives, make sure it is a real 10TB drive
  • If it is, buy 10 more and make a good profit selling them ~$10 below retail.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Ordered one using Paypal for protection- Hopefully it is an actual 10tb drive, although I have a very weird feeling about the price seeming far too good.

Do let us all know, I'll be picking one or two up myself if it is.

Will do. What is the best way for me to test these to make sure they are really 10TB and new?

Will it alert me to a fake size drive? I;m worried these will have "1TB" flash drive syndrome lol.

Read some reviews online, looks like this is very likely a scam to steal credit card info. I have changed my paypal password from their site and been checking daily for any false charges. If the drive is more than a couple of days late I'll dispute the charge and try to get my money back. I'm going to recommend against ordering from them for now, if the drive comes and is legit, I'll post about it.

Alright, so the drive was supposed to arrive today. There was a USPS tracking number associated with the package and the tracking claims the package was delivered today. Things that sketch me out: No actual address in any part of the tracking history, product is now not sold by the company anymore, no package in my hands. I opened a claim with Paypal, stating that the package was never delivered. Any advice?

Update:

Definite scam- paypal won't help me because there is a tracking number saying the package was delivered. I have no idea how a tracking number would be generated and progressively filled out as it "moved across the country"  but with nothing delivered. I have checked with neighbors, none of them have gotten the package by accident. My plan for now is to speak with the mailman and see if they remember putting the package where the tracking claims (as it isn't usually where our mail is delivered.) If anyone has any ideas how a scam like this works or has any advice, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!
