Is 32 GB ram enough for gaming?

Or should I try to go to 64 I just play games listen to music and game

16 is recommended atm .... I believe this recommended value will continue for the next 3 to 4 years

16GB is enough for gaming. 32GB will be enough for quite a few years to come. 64GB is absurd for gaming.

9 is the most I've seen gaming and rendering with Openshot at 1080p 60hz with my Xeon, and I've got 24 on tap. 32 is overkill.

Okay thank you. I got 32 on my i9, 2080 RTX just wanted to see if thst would be okay.

If all you do is game you'd be much better off saving money with an i7 9700K+ 16GB of memory and affording the RTX 2080 Ti.

Maybe, maybe not, have you, for example seen any differences in cpu load with 12 16 and 32?

The only time I've ever had the need for more RAM (I'm currently at 16GB) is when I played Cities Skylines with a crap ton of mods. I couldn't even open Chrome with the game running.

I think you all just got trolled by the OP.  Like seriously.

16 GB is considered standard now for gaming.  8 GB runs into problems, especially since windows 10 uses a nice size of it for itself, and paging sucks.  32 GB is "overkill" but it's a nice cushion to have.  You can open several games at once, stream, have browsers open...most gamers don't *need* 32 GB right now but it's nice to have.

tbh you can probably get away with 8/12GB if you want to go mismatch  but 16gb is probably the most you ever need. Im on window 10 and i never gone past 9gb. On idle with just Vuze running in the background it only ever uses 3GB of ram
