I want my dad to lend me $200, but he only ever helps me out when the part is thoroughly not working. I did the same thing when our wifi router was only doing a 30mbps throughput when on an a/g/n router, and we were paying for 400mbps. He’s of the if it’s not broke, then its good enough mindset.

screw up a BIOS flash on the GPU, maybe. but why do you need to borrow the money for a better GPU anyways?

Oh boy, so you want to risk destroying a perfectly good card in order to scam your parents into loaning you money to buy a card that's clearly been mined to death, or maybe a Chinese knock-off.

Sounds like a good plan /S

You want to ruin a perfectly-good RX 580 because you're too impatient to wait until your paycheck?

Well instead of asking your dad for $200 you could just get a rtx 2060. Still a massive upgrade.

You have a gpu that works just fine. Just save up money and buy the 2080 later. I have no idea how you can compare having a bad router and pay8bg for high speed internet to owning a rx 580.

Does that have 0 risk of damaging the card? I wanna give this card to a friend once I upgrade

No I’ll be paying my father back on Friday, I’m just impatient and a dick naturally. I’ll even be impatient and a dick about paying people back.
