I will save you the $40 the dropshipped turntable you have linked would cost. No, they won't sound any better and you will be wasting your money, especially with $40 dropshipped thing already only in Amazon sold by 3 different dropshippers.
At the best you get to enjoy the really vintage music  listening experience which will include: Distorted sound even on low volume, basicly only middles because lows would need bigger speaker and highs would need smaller speaker, extra scratchy needle to "improve" the vintage experience on the second play, the lovely pops that are louder than the Jericho trumpets, twice as nasty and ten times more scary.

Just for reference, people who say vinyls are so great over digital audio and aren't doing so just because they're hipsters, have sunk usually 4-5 figure sums into their audio systems and probably have a turntable with a pricetag in the high 3 to middle 4 figure sums. And you think you can get anywhere near with $40?
If you inherit vinyl collection or get some crazy good deal for a bunch of vinyls, then it's probably wort it to invest the couple hundreds to have something with which to listen to them, or get something knowingly good as used. Couple vinyls and $40, cut your looses, get some Ikea frames for your vinyls and enjoy the album art while listening the album digitally, that is better investment than the dropshipped turntable with a speaker and bluetooth.

Probably? But a turntable is the last thing you should cheap out on if you're enthusiastic about your vinyl, the Audio Technica tables are the cheapest I see vinyl enthusiasts recommend. Used turntables might be a better idea if you can find some decent stuff (go to dedicated vinyl forums and groups for this, big brands often take junk and slap their labels on)

People praise it for a few reasons.
    1. In order to master a file to a record, a bunch of compensating mechanisms need to be in place while mastering the track, this creates its own sound signature of sort which some people like.
    2. The imperfections add "character" to the sound
    3. They're full of it and are acquiescing to peer pressure

#1 is actually a somewhat legitimate argument. There's no overblown bass, loudness isn't exaggerated and there's a certain "warmth" to things. These things can all be replicated digitally though.

Every modern record as far as I'm aware as made by taking a digital file and then adapting it to vinyl.
Every record is literally a digital file that in some sense has been degraded. There's no theoretical way to make it better (more accurate) than digital when it starts as digital as there's a quality loss at each step.

anyways, yeah, if you're going to throw away money on vinyl records, don't doubly-waste your money by cheaping out on a vinyl record player. Get a good one, or don't get one at all. One of my best friends makes $200K/yr and has a nice vinyl record player and a large collection... doesn't use it at all because Spotify is better.

thesoundtracktoyourlife.co.uk but I canceled the order because it was taking way too long. Way more than estimate. But thanks for telling me anyway!

By the way advice for anyone thinking of ordering with Royal Mail- those estimates 3-5 working days or even 6-7 are absolutely hilarious and completely wrong. Maybe if you get lucky they might be true but no mail service delivers that fast on its standard rates, which is also untracked by the way, you have to get way more premium services, tracked priority or whatever to get these delivery times and Royal Mail is especially slow so keep that in mind if you are ordering. I recommend ordering Tracked\Signed if you are going to order from them and you have an option to choose the delivery. That one arrives in an acceptable amount of time. Standard, well I waited 3 months for my package the first time and I didn't even expect to get it at that point and the second time I just canceled after waiting more than 20 days and I just ordered it from somewhere else(the USA). You can only get fast international shipping 3-5 business days or even 6-7 only with carriers like DHL,UPS and so on and if it's mail maybe like a really priority or express mail, it has to be quite a premium service for that. If you want to order standard because of budget constrains, I recommend ordering with USPS from the USA. Normally I would recommend just using a carrier if you can find a way to afford it but if you can't , packages with standard mail from USPS from the USA literally arrive faster(about a month for me which I would consider fine for standard mail) than ones with Royal Mail from the UK and I am in Europe, it is just hilarious how slow they are. To be fair I have had a package once come in about a month as well from the UK and I am assuming it was sent with Royal Mail but for that I don't know if the service was the standard one or a more premium one and I don't even remember if it was Royal Mail. Usually it's very slow. So until Royal Mail maybe fixes their slow shipping service, definitely take this advice if you don't want to wait 3 months for your package.

Update: I got a few package from Royal Mail that arrived in about a month with their Air Mail. It's still pretty slow but I just wanted to throw that out there just for informational purposes.

I would guess it's for the same reason that anyone selling something where color accuracy matters will have a disclaimer that the color you see on your screen may not reflect the colors you see in real life. Photo compression combined with different monitor technologies and color gamuts make it impossible for there to be a one-to-one correlation between what you see in a digital image and what you see in real life without manual calibration of all the parts in between.

A YouTube video recording is never going to be completely accurate to what you would hear in real life, thanks to audio compression and the speakers/headphones you're using to listen to it. And that's before we get into anything the software they used to make the video did to the audio and the quality of the sound card or DAC you're using to listen to it.

I would not use a video like this to make a purchase decision. I would try to find a review from a reliable outlet. Barring that, check reviews on sites like Amazon to see what users think.

For an effective comparison, you would need to find a recording of your headphones and compare them to a recording of the other headphones. A comparison with listening on your headphones directly only works if you listen to the other headphones directly too.

Keep in mind this still isn't a perfect comparison - for instance, if your headphones have less treble than usual, they could make a recording of a headphone with too much treble sound unnaturally good - but it's much better than working off a single recording alone.

Wow! What can I say, Photoshop is Photoshop. It is obvious that it is professional software. I used the Photoshop one and it is absolutely amazing, incredible, mindblowing! I have no words how amazing it is! Like compared to everything else I have tried it is just on another level. It feels like AI, like you are being assisted by an actual, intelligent AI(like Jarvis), it is incredible! I played with their sample image when they show you the tutorial on how to use the new AI and I made an amazing picture that I saved and then when I tried it on my image, the one that I actually wanted this for, well it literally made a perfect result the first time. I just used generative expand and it completed it better than I imagined it(the completed image). It literally looks like it is the actual image(the source image) and the actual source image is a cropped version of it. It is insane! Absolutely love it and I am gonna use it this is a gamechanger in design and finding wallpapers! Thanks a lot for helping! The first time you suggested it I glossed over it, but now that you have brought attention to it, I decided to try it(and the other options didn't work for me so), really appreciate it!

stefanmz reacted to Ralphred in Disable sudo-password
Yeah, there is. Sudo has been defanged by by modern distros by using the ALL directive in the /etc/sudoers file.
What should be there in place of ALL is a list of actual commands that a user (or group) are allowed to execute with root privilege.
Now, if you need ssh access then set-up exclusive private/public key authentication, then a user that doesn't have user or group permissions in sudoers, and make sure there are no 'authorized_keys' files for other users. If that user isn't in the wheel group either they won't be able to use su to a: change to a user with sudo rights, b: su to root.
As long as your "admin" user is in the wheel group and able to su to root with a password, sudo is a bit redundant with ALL permissions and you can cut sudo access down by just removing that directive.
Lol, a bootable usb, chroot and passwd fixes that.

Just change the password. You could remove admin rights but that will either lock you out completely or destroy the install. Either way you are better off by either disabling SSH, changing passwords or have only certain MAC addresses allowed to access the machine.

Specify your country and maybe locals can give you pointers.

If you found anyone doing international, you will be paying for shipping regardless either directly or indirectly, taken out of whatever price gets offered. Basically unless it is a really high value item it probably isn't going to be economic.

But they're expensive, this is typically what performers use to monitor their own sound while singing etc. doesnt solve your problem, but I figured Id toss it here uincase anyone was interested. I think a couple Twitch streamers use them too e.g. Lvndmark

Hi! Is there some 3d model software like solid works but for designing furniture? With built in furniture models though since I don't have my own and I don't think the store will be able to provide them, I haven't asked, but it will be more convenient if there are built in. Or maybe you can link a location where I can download them if you know.
