How can bestbuy possibly tell you with any certainty that it is a manufacturing defect without even testing it? That is not how it works.
You don't understand. Anything after the warranty, Asus has no obligation to fix, be it free or for money. It sucks, but that is the way it works.

Also, fans and batteries are consumables. They don't last an indefinite amount of time. And laptop fans are usually the worst of the kind. As for the battery, there are many things that kill the life of a battery. Did you leave the laptop plugged in constantly?

its out of warrenty, I dont know why you expect a free repair.
Anyways at two years old you probably need to do a battery swap. If the fans are failing swap out the fans. if the cooler needs to be cleaned of dust, clean it of dust, if it needs to be repasted, then do a repaste.

Other then that this all seems normal to me.

You can find all the parts you need on ebay and if you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself a local ubreakifix will do it.

I dunno, after your laptop is out of warranty they are more than allowed to charge your for services and parts. I would imagine if it was a defective part initially you would’ve noticed it before your warranty expired.

Gaming laptops are not known for their longevity after all.

The round ones you marked is a thumbscrew, idk what sizing it is
Sure looks custom made though (as in : specially made for that case by Kolink).

The rectangle part is some sort of retaining bracket/clamp for any PCIe device, not a vertical mounting slot.
AFAIK, It basically clamps the "L" part of PCIe bracket of (let's say) GPU, though the PCIe device will still need screws to make it truly secure in place.

OP, I never used that case or any case that uses that system, but from how it looks like, seems to me that you can mount any PCIE device without the rectangle part. Simpler term : It's more to half flair than a necessity.

I don't think the mobo manufacturers even know some of the settings are overclocking because intel doesn't really specify on their end.
intel has stated to reviews and manufacturers as that those settings ARE in spec

@BiotechBen while you're technically correct, which is the best kind of correct...

This problem can manifest without the buyer touching the BIOS settings at all. The defaults are set to an unlimited PL1... Oh, yes, it's actually limited at 4000 amps. Like I said, unlimited.

No, what explains that is that its a previous gen card and was stopped being manufactured alltogether to be replaced by the 7000 cards.

Dr_Whom reacted to RejZoR in EK Waterblocks: Liquidity shortage and mismanagement
Your claim makes no sense. No one just charges premium and everyone's like "yup, all fine". You earn the right to charge premium and EK has always been the premium brand. Guess what, premium brands charge premium prices. People also forgot how copper prices increased through years and how machining specific blocks simply costs more.

As for EVGA, do you realize EVGA was actually making the "NVIDIA" branded graphic cards for NVIDIA back in the day and that it was known as brand with toughest PCB's and power delivery circuits? In similar way how Sapphire has been making "Built by ATi" back then. Also your warranty claim makes no sense. Last thing any company wants is for most of their products to be processed through warranty. It's just absolutely worst for business. Either you lower the warranty period and risk people avoiding your products or you raise the warranty to attract customers with longer warranty and ensure most of your sold products survive warranty period without any need for service. This is the best outcome. But if something goes wrong, users have the peace of mind warranty will cover their expensive graphic card and as far as I know EVGA has always correctly dealt with warranty claims and was actually know to be very "pro consumer" oriented.

So you highlight the good experience you had with Zotac and ASUS, and ignore all the complaints that people file.

Every company has RMAs, and some individuals might experience a spike in RMAs compared to others.

I've had one Zotac card failure(1/2 so 50% failure rate), and one ASUS card fail(1/2 again, so 50%). Based on those numbers, they must be unreliable! Except I don't think that's true. Sample size is too small, and I would argue that so is yours.

I have a lot, a lot of EK stuff and have never had any problems ever. It depends on what you buy, I have no AIO's of theirs and don't intend to buy them. What I do have is a huge supply of fittings and blocks from many different build and not ever had Nickel plating issues. And by a lot I mean more than 40 STC compression fittings and another 40 HDC compression fittings, many angle adapters and rotary angle adapters. Had multiple 6970 full cover block, multiple 290X full cover blocks, 6800 XT, Rampage 3&4 BE full cover, Supremacy CPU block plus more I'm likely forgetting or not worth mentioning and all without any issues and all perfectly good quality.

This is not to say EK hasn't or doesn't sell products with problems, like any brand could or has. But I wouldn't go around calling literally everything a company makes garbage based off a tiny fraction of what they have ever made.

It's also not like you can't find Nickel plating issues with both brands you mentioned in less than a minute, more recent EK plating being sub standard or not it's almost always user error that is the root cause and the quality merely saves your ass or not, or saves it for X amount of time.

On the other hand I've had 3 Corsair AIO fail, 2 same reason and the other different but I wouldn't say all Corsair AIOs are trash and I'd still buy them and recommend them.

TL;DR Crappily run companies can still sell good products.

Imagine calling your kid an NPC for playing something she enjoys while at the same time complaining that she won't just play the stuff you, the main character, are interested in. The gall of your kid having their own personality and interests separate from her parents, total NPC behavior right there. I hope the dripping sarcasm is obvious enough.

I wouldn't say rises (descends) to the level of a true slur like the N-word or F-word, but it is a really shitty insult, and favored by some of the shittiest people on the internet, many of whom certainly have no problem with using true slurs.

OP, you're insulting your 9 year old daughter in front of a bunch of strangers. Because she doesn't like the same video games you like. Stop and think about that.

I am having to work really hard to hold back here because this thread makes me extremely angry and if I said what my initial honest reaction was I'd probably get banned. My wife and I desperately wanted to have kids but haven't been able to. Here's duder who's been blessed with a kid who wants to spend time with him and all he can do is complain to strangers on the internet about how she's a lame normie.

OP, you say you want her to have the "gaming with dad" memory, and you say she wants to play games with you, but she doesn't seem to be your real priority. It's like some sort of silly Gamer pride about only playing Real Games is more important to you than bonding with your child.

In the course of her life, she's probably going to be into a bunch of stuff that doesn't interest you in the slightest. If you can't even find common ground with her in gaming because she doesn't like "real games" then what kind of effort are you going to make for that other stuff?

Did you ever put together a simple puzzle with her when she was younger? Was it a thrilling, exciting, challenging experience for you? Of course not. You did it because it was fun for her to do and fun for her to do with her dad.

Suck it up and play some Roblox. After that you can try introducing her to some stuff you like better, but you can't present it as "Your dad isn't going to do the stuff you like because it's lame and you're lame, here's stuff you should like instead."
