Your problem lies in where you interpret the actual box you have to complete / introduce data, in your case a few digits. That box however is badly translated. It refers to inputting your last digits out of the whole IP address you want to forward. If your LAN is 111.111.11.1 then what you would enter in the last box is 1 or 001 as the router already knows your internal structure. If its for example 192.168.1.240 ( what you would wish to forward pointing to this address in your LAN ) then what you should input is 240 nothing else. I hope this helps.

I installed W11 and I just like the feeling of it, everything's just modernized and good looking, simplifed (not in a bad way, but in a way that for example something that would've been a mess to use/look at in W10, its more organized and stuff in W11), also, the system sounds, with W10 the system sounds are insta mute because of how bad they sound, with W11 they sound nice, they don't bother as much. I'd say def go for Windows 11, its pretty nice

I see. If you got a USB drive with 8gb or more, then you can create a bootable windows 11 installation disk, using the offical microsoft media creation tool: https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11
If your license is valid for windows 11 upgrade, it wont ask for a license key when you start the wizard. When booting from USB you simply plugin the USB (after running media creation tool) and restart the PC. When dell splash screen shows, spam F12 or wait, it might boot from USB automatically.

You wont void the warranty, but depending on what version was on the specification sheets on the PC, thats what you get. So if the PC is specified with windows 11, you should get that. From what I understand LTSC cant be directly upgraded to windows 11. I would take the PC back to the store and ask them to get windows 11 on it. And as said earlier, if the specs suggested that the PC comes with windows 11, that's what should be installed from the beginning.

    dynamic range compression.

I use an AVR for most of my sound. It's essentially a toggle. Sometimes called "night mode"

I haven't fiddled with it via windows but here's a reddit thread.

In linux-land you could conceivably do something similar with PulseEffects or EasyEffects.

You might also be able to do this with OBS. I haven't fiddled with a windows on a personal system in like... 2ish years.

DanWhite reacted to Birblover12 in Are android emulators harmful?
Bluestacks (and most other well-known Android Emulators) should be fine. The games you download however, might not be. Keep in mind just because something's on the Google Play Store doesn't mean it's automatically safe. There's still loads of sketchy apps that if you aren't careful might do huge amounts of damage (I.E they just use your phone for crypto mining or something), Google is pretty good at moderating those types of applications but just keep your guard up. Don't let me scare you though, as long as you download reputable, largely downloaded apps you should be totally okay.

DanWhite reacted to Bombastinator in Can I buy any router and use it as an access point?
Generally yes if it’s a wifi router.  Access point is an 802.11 term which is more less equivalent to switching router. A router goes between LANs whereas a switch doesn’t.  A switching router is a switch with a router jack.  They make ethernet routers that have no wifi and therefore cannot be access points though.  I haven’t looked at your example though because I try not to click on links on the internet.  If it’s got both antennas and 5 ports on the back with one separated from the others (so a 4 port switching router) I would be very surprised if it wasn’t a full WAP.

DanWhite reacted to Origami Cactus in Is this software sorcery?
To me it seems like the program just moves the memory taken up by the browser onto your SSD/HDD, and if you have an SSD you probably won't notice much speed difference.
But if it actually does it, you burn through your SSD faster.
Remember that RAM has basically infinite lifespan, while SSD can only take a determined amount of read/write operations before dying.
I would just stop using the program, if you need more RAM available just use Edge, comes with your windows install, and is way better optimized, but still based on Chromium, so all your extensions etc will work. With edge you can also enable sleeping tabs, so tabs that you don't use for example 5min are put to sleep to save ram and Processor usage.
Having ram at close to 100% usage is not bad, it is just how ram works, if you don't feel any performance problems or stutters, just stop using the weird program.

DanWhite reacted to tikker in Is this software sorcery?
If 80% is "in use", whatever "use" may be, it makes sense to just grab something from the 20% that is still available first. When that runs out or if you request more it can signal "hey I need more, can you free up this chunk that you're not actively using for me", or crash if there actually is no memory available. This is the common fear of high number == bad, which is particularly persistent for RAM useage. As long as you are not noticing a performance hit, however, the reality is the opposite. RAM is there to be used. If a certain (substantial) fraction would always be free you are essentially wasting that capacity (ignoring specific projects that would need it of course). Incidentally, if you upgrade to more then usage will likely also increase. The system will see there is more to use, so it will use more.

Wanting RAM usage to be low would be like a company with 100 desks keeping 5 essential employees at their desk and asking all its other 35 employees to work from home, just in case 50 new employees suddenly show up needing a desk. Now if you're constantly employing 145 employees and productivity takes a hit because they can't all work at a desk (== you are actually running out of RAM and suffer because of it) then it's a problem. If you employ 95 full-time people or say 105 of which a good chunk are part-time and scheduled such that desk usage never overlaps and is always at or below capacity (== you are making efficient or even optimal use of your memory), there is no problem.

Well thats the easy way to go about things I guess. I showed on a gif how if I clicked on a "extend network" option or something like that it did give me the option to select "5 Ghz (N)" band, it didn't quite work still but anyway because of that I don't wanna just call it a day with this kind of respond your giving me because with some digging around I might be able to get the 5 Ghz signal I don't know, but obviously its just much easier to say "it don't work" and end it like that I guess

It's probably not what you want, but a part of what you want could be satisfied .. Fallout 3 and Fallout 3 New Vegas
You start poor, with barely anything and unskilled and you gain weapons and armors and improve your skills as you explore a completely unknown territory to you and do quests and so on.  In new vegas karma also plays a huge role, you can be idolized or hated by various factions, you could be attacked on sight if you wear armor that belongs to a faction that's hated by the faction you're trying to interact with or people may not talk to you or be less helpful / less open  if you don't lower your gun or if you have low speech skills..
Fallout 4 is more streamlined, more linear, less choices and less consequences for your actions but I guess it would also work.

Could also try that Truck driver simulator game with lots of versions and addons... you start with practically nothing, with a truck transporting merchandise and with the money you earn you can buy your own garage and trucks and hire drivers and all that crap.

OpenTTD for transport tycoon game .. start with a bank loan and make transportation routes, trains, buses etc ...
